Destiny 2: The Season of Dawn has finally arrived and it has brought a ton of exciting new guns to try out! This also includes 3 exotic weapons. These can be found, unlocked or purchased through different means and not all of the weapons are currently available but they will be soon. This Destiny 2: Season of Dawn weapons guide will go over every known weapon in the new season, as well as how to acquire them. With nothing further, let’s dive right in!
Destiny 2 Season of Dawn Weapons
Steelfeather Repeater Auto Rifle
Head to Thieves’ Landing on the Tangled Shore. Make your way to the Sundial Obelisk and interact with it to open up its menu.
Make sure that the Tangled Shore Obelisk is linked before you do this. You will find the Steelfeather Repeater as a reward for certain bounties under the “Obelisk bounties” category.
If you do them, you will get the weapon from the Sundial during the end of the event.
This weapon has is great for run and gun action since it fires 720 Rounds per minute and 49 Rounds per magazine. Its reload speed is faster than most.
You can make use of perks such as Arrowhead Brake, Chambered Compensator, Armor-piercing round or high caliber rounds, Extended Mag, Alloy Magazine and even a Multikill clip.
Line in the Sand Linear Fusion Rifle
This weapon comes with a 25% boost of damage to LFR and Firing Line. That makes it one of the best non-exotic weapons in the game to do a ton of damage per second.
The Rapid Hit and Firing Line perks ensure that.
In order to acquire this weapon, you need to go to Hellas Basin and visit the Mars Sundial Obelisk.
If you’ve linked the Obelisk then you can collect the Line in the Sand linear fusion rifle as a reward.
Martyr’s Retribution Grenade Launcher
This Solar energy based grenade launcher is extremely unique. When the grenade you fire impacts with anything, it will begin firing a line of flames to incinerate your foes.
It shoots high velocity rounds with an auto-loading holster and Demolitionist perk so that it does extreme explosive damage.
You can acquire this weapon by completing the Martyr’s Retribution Grenade Launcher Commando Timelost Weapon Bounty objective on Hellas Basin, Mars.
Symmetry Exotic Scout Rifle
The Symmetry is a powerful exotic scout rifle. It hits like a traditional scout, but it fires at a much faster rate than any other of its variety. It also features high stability, ensuring the shots stay close.
You can acquire it straight away by purchasing the Season Pass for Season of Dawn and owning the Digital Deluxe Version of Shadowkeep.
If you haven’t got the season pass then you will have to level yourself up quite a bit by doing Gambit matches.
Bastion Exotic Fusion Rifle
This Kinetic weapon deals a ton of damage by using special ammo.
Although its range isn’t fantastic and it has huge recoil, it makes up for it with its extremely strong impact stat of 80 and aim assistance.
Saint’s Fists allows the weapon to charge to fire 3 spreads of Kinetic slugs and Breakthrough ensures that a portion of this weapon’s damage bypasses elemental shields. This item can be acquired through an exotic quest that begins on January 28, 2020.
Devil’s Ruin Exotic Sidearm
This solar sidearm can fire 300 rounds per minute and comes with a variable trigger that you can press and release to fire individual shots or hold to charge up a high-powered laser that can stagger enemies. This weapon is ideal for battling Unstoppable Champions but note that it has a high charge time of 1000.
The quest to unlock this weapon will become available on January 7th.
The Old Fashioned Hand Cannon
This Legendary Kinetic Hand Cannon comes with an Adaptive Frame perk which ensures that the grip is well rounded, reliable and sturdy.
You should definitely bring this along for both PvE and PvP matches since it can roll with extended mag which increases the ease getting a kill every mag.
It can also roll with feeding frenzy and kill clip to ensure faster reloading and k makes the reload as fast as can be and it has good recoil.
Patron of Lost Causes Scout Rifle
This Legendary Kinetic Scout Rifle has a rather morbid backstory as the name implies. It has a rough engraving on its side that says “in memoriam” and it can be acquired from the Sundial activity on Mercury.
The Lightweight Frame allows you to move faster with this weapon equipped and gives it superb handling.
Hawthorne’s Field-Forged Shotgun
This Legendary weapon belongs to Suraya Hawthorne and serves as an all-around good shotgun with great handling. It fires about 80 rounds per minute and the Full Auto Trigger System allows you to auto-fire by holding down the trigger.
In order to acquire it, you need to open Legendary engrams and earn faction rank-up packages.
Perfect Paradox Shotgun
This shotgun comes with a quick reload time and Rapid-Fire Frame that allows you to auto-shoot with deeper ammo reserves.
It fires 140 rounds per minute with a magazine capacity of 7. There is moderate recoil but the fairly high aim assist makes up for it. Demolitionist and rampage make this weapon an ideal choice for PvE.
You can get the Perfect Paradox by completing obelisk bounties and increasing the Resonance Rank of obelisks across the system.
This is the sidearm for players who aren’t fans of sidearms. It comes with a hard-hitting two-burst fire of 30 rounds per minute that packs a punch.
It is really fast and you can land your shots from some pretty great range. It also comes with a good ape counter so it is an ideal weapon for PvP matches. It can be acquired from the Sundial activity on Mercury.
Cold Front Submachine Gun
This Legendary SMG is for aggressive players who want to deal out massive damage.
It does high damage with high recoil and the Osmosis perk makes it so that when you use your grenade ability, the Cold Front’s damage changes to match your subclass until you stow it.
It can fire up to 750 rounds per minute with a magazine capacity of 27. You can acquire it during the Dawning event.
This legendary auto rifle is your reward for opening Legendary engrams and earning faction rank-up packages.
It has a Precision Frame that makes its recoil pattern more predictably vertical. It fires up to 450 rounds per minute with a magazine capacity of 33.
Point Of The Stag
This Energy Combat Bow does increased damage against bosses, vehicles, and Guardians with their Super active. It is a Compound bow that does more damage if you draw it for a longer time optimized for damage.
This energy fusion rifle isn’t quite as good as others for PvP since it has no perks that give it a competitive edge.
However, it is quite useful during PvE matches since it can roll with quickdraw, grave robber and demolitionist.
It has a High-Impact frame that ensures a low rate of fire but high damage. You get better accuracy by remaining stationary and aiming down sights.
You unlock it by opening Legendary engrams and earning faction rank-up packages.
Like the Elatha FR4, this fusion rifle comes with a High-impact frame that ensures a low rate of fire but does a lot of damage to your enemies.
It has an impact of 95 so you can oneshot enemies if they’re close but we wouldn’t recommend it for more hectic matches. It can be acquired from the Sundial activity on Mercury.
Jack Queens King
This Energy Hand Cannon is extremely lightweight and Pulse Monitor auto-reloads part of the magazine if you’re about to die so it is a lifesaver weapon.
It can fire up to 150 rounds per minute and has a mag capacity of 13. You can get it by completing obelisk bounties and increasing the Resonance Rank of obelisks across the system.
Unlike the previous to fusion energy rifles, this one comes with much better handling so that you can stay mobile a lot more with this weapon equipped.
It has a rate of fire of 450 rounds per minute with a Magazine capacity of 33. You can get it by completing obelisk bounties and increasing the Resonance Rank of obelisks across the system.
This sidearm comes with an Omolon Adaptive Frame that gives it a well-rounded and reliable 3-round burst.
It fires 491 rounds per minute and can be acquired from opening Legendary engrams and earning faction rank-up packages.
This Energy sidearm fires 491 rounds per minute with a 3 round burst. It can be collected by completing obelisk bounties and increasing the Resonance Rank of obelisks across the system.
This Legendary Energy sniper rifle is a Season Pass Reward for those players who purchased it. It has extremely high damage and accuracy over a long range.
Not to mention but the Dragonfly add on ensures that precision kills create an elemental damage explosion. It’s a must have for PvP combat.
Mos Epoch III
This rocket launcher is a blast (heh). It does high damage with a blast radius of 55.
It can be collected by completing obelisk bounties and increasing the Resonance Rank of obelisks across the system.
This Legendary Power rocket launcher is a Season Pass Reward and fires a small auto-tracking missile that locks onto targets when aimed.
Tapping the trigger grants a short period of increased stability and accuracy on the initial trigger pull.
It does a lot of damage with a blast radius of 65. It has high recoil but that can be evened out by rolling it with the Counterbalance stock.
Ritual weapons in Destiny 2 Season of Dawn replace the old Pinnacle Weapons and are hence the top of the line guns you will be using.
Komodo-4FR Linear Fusion Rifle
This Linear Fusion Rifle is the Crucible Ritual Weapon and is built for PvP play.
Eye of the Storm will your life by giving you better handling when you’re on the verge of death.
The real deal is the Aim Assist that has 62 base stats that can be bumped up to 67 with Targeting Adjuster, and with Moving to Target improve your mobility.
You get it by visiting Shaxx and doing the Heart of the Dragon quest that requires you to:
- Land 15 final blows with a Linear Fusion Rifle
- Land 15 precision final blows with a Linear Fusion Rifle
- Rank up to “Heroic”
This shotgun is the Gambit Ritual weapon and it is powerful enough to be considered a pinnacle weapon.
Its magazine capacity is 11 rounds with overflow active and Aggressive frame increases your rate of fire after getting a kill.
The Overflow and Feeding Frenzy perks will increase weapon capacity and reload speed.
You can acquire it by talking to the Drifter and completing the Get Closer quest that requires you to:
- Land 500 final blows with a shotgun
- Land 150 close-range final blows with a shotgun
- Reach Gambit Infamy rank “Heroic “
These requirements are fairly easy and can be achieved in a few hours even without win streaks for the heroic infamy requirement.
This is the Vanguard Ritual Weapon and it is excellent for PvE matches.
Roll with outlaw and squashbuckler to do great ranged melee combos with this weapon. It comes with a high rate of fire with 300 rounds per minute and a good precision hit register.
Fourth Time’s the Charm will ensure that landing precision hits in succession will give you back two rounds in your magazine.
Osmosis changes the weapon’s damage type to match your subclass once you use your grenade ability.
You can earn it by visiting General Zavala and doing the Anything That Moves quest. In it, you need to play strikes and:
- Land 1500 Final blows with a Sidearm
- Land 50 airborne final blows with a sidearm
- Score 4500 Points
