Electronic Arts is stepping up its Star Wars game with a new edition for Battlefront 2. Just in time for the release of the next Star Wars movie, the Star Wars: Battlefront 2 Celebration Edition will release including all past and future updates, according to a new leak.
The leak comes from True Achievements where a post about the new Star Wars: Battlefront 2 Celebration edition was spotted.
The edition includes the base game, all updates both past and future ones as well as new content to hype up the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The movie releases on December 20th, so it’s a great time for such a deal. The description reads that the Celebration Edition includes more than 200 cosmetic choices including skins, emotes and victory poses.
According to the leak, Star Wars: Battlefront 2 Celebration Edition will release on December 5th and will launch as a full game as well as an upgrade to your existing edition. Although you get all previous customization options that have released up until now, the post suggests that all customization content after the movie release won’t be included in the new edition.
Taking into account all facts, the new Star Wars movie isn’t the only reason Electronic Arts is backing up Battlefront 2 again. After the success of Jedi: Fallen Order it is only natural for the publisher to take the time and revisit its flagship franchise title. 2019 has been a great year for Star Wars overall, with one great game, a top-notch TV series in the form of The Mandalorian and a main movie coming to cinemas in a few weeks.
For those interested in playing Star Wars: Battlefront 2 but don’t want to go the extra mile and buy the Celebration Edition, you can check it out through Origin Access. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is also available on Origin Premier, so that’s another reason to join in a for a month and get your Star Wars game on.
