Respawn Entertainment’s first non-Titanfall title Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has proven to be a rousing success, but even in spite of that, many people are wondering if there will be any DLC, or even an expansion, to continue or expand on its story in some way despite the ending.
Fallen Order is interesting for a Star Wars game because it’s essentially a Metroidvania game, various planets having obstacles that you can’t access on your first visit without certain Force powers that you gain on other planets.
With all of the worlds to explore in the game and the plot setup of tracking Jedi Master Eno Cordova, having a DLC or expansion pack for the game would help to expand it, bringing up new planets for Cal Kestis and the Mantis to explore and possibly gain new lightsaber parts and colors and Force powers.
While part of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s advertisement was that there wouldn’t be any microtransactions or pay-to-win DLC (barring the pre-order DLC that gave players various lightsaber parts and an additional color, orange), there was never anything said about story DLC.
At the same time, however, Respawn’s given no indication that they’re working on any. While it might be too soon to call that, since the game only released last month, it will likely be a while before Respawn is in any sort of position to work on DLC.
Of course, given the game’s great reception, Respawn and EA may be galvanized to make more content for the game, even if each DLC pack is only one planet each. Whether that will happen or not, however, will depend on whether Respawn even decides to make DLC at all.
You can currently play Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC, so if you haven’t picked it up yet, it will help to get you excited for Star Wars before Episode 9 comes out.
