Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has managed to create what the last trilogy movies for the franchise failed to. Bring old fans to a universe that has let its community down over the past years. The game has managed to attract stellar review ratings, although it did have its minor issues. This makes us wonder what a sequel will be like if it ever happens. What do fans want to see in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2?
More Impactful Abilities in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2
Fallen Order has a huge variety of abilities that assist you both in combat and exploration. Stepping on solid Metroidvania ground, the game uses unlockable abilities to gain access to cut-off areas, failing to make it seem like a big deal in the meantime.
Fans want that mechanic implementation to feel more organic to the gameplay. Scale the difficulty of passage to hidden areas as the player transverses through planets or make it at least a little more challenging to find those passages. We can’t be mad with what we already got with Fallen Order but the outcome would be a 10/10 if its gameplay mechanics were working in a more intuitive way.
More Impactful Story
Don’t get us wrong. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order had a better story than what the latest trilogy ever offered. However, it did have its minor braindead moments were pacing falls short and you find yourself aimlessly exploring. Looking for things to make better in a later game, the story is the first thing that comes into mind. If Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 happens at some point, we’d love it to have a more rebellious character from Respawn Entertainment. Something fitting to the biggest movie franchise ever created.
More Lightsaber Styles
This is practically the number one request fans have our of Star Wars games. After 4 decades of Star Wars movies, we’ve seen so many lightsaber styles that we can’t even follow. Fallen Order masterfully implements a lightsaber customization mechanic that doesn’t go as far as to change your weapon entirely. We’d love to see lightsabers with different blades in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 if it ever happens.
With so many styles taken from the animated and original series, we’d be looking at a class-based game with tons of versatility, depending on the player’s choices.
After so many decades of aimlessly shooting Stormtroopers, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order released to make Jedi feel powerful again. The game’s souls-like combat ties all its elements together in a natural way, it fails to take it one step further though.
Animations between swings and ability casts should make sense in a battle sequence and that’s something that Respawn Entertainment didn’t pay much attention to. Only a minor fault but fans would love to see combat have more flair in a potential sequel in the form of Fallen Order 2, giving it strong chances of being a game of the year.
More Returning Characters
Who doesn’t love old movie characters getting a comeback in games or modern movies? Star Wars is a franchise of nostalgia and much like the ongoing movies, Fallen Order too managed to recall that nostalgia by bringing back some rather familiar faces. If a sequel is to ever be released, we’d love to see that continue in the same way, if not more impactful. The Mandalorian TV series managed to replicate that feeling to in its first episodes, bringing back Star Wars stronger than ever. What the great year 2019 was for Star Wars fans.
We have no idea if and when Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2 will happen. The first game managed to erase all previous Star Wars games’ mistakes, restoring faith in a video game franchise that we wanted to succeed for decades now. Electronic Arts doesn’t let go of successful game titles that easily, giving the possibilities of a sequel much better. However, if it is to happen then it won’t be anytime soon. Maybe the next time we get to play a Fallen Order title will be when the Star Wars saga will have been concluded. Who knows?
