The new set of challenges for week 8 of Fornite Chapter 2 has finally arrived. One of the new challenges in this batch has you racing against the clock to finish two swimming time trials at Lazy Lake and Hydro 16. With Chapter 2, swimming in Fortnite was completely revamped, this challenge makes full use of the new swimming mechanics. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the locations, as well as the proper way to finish the Fortnite Chapter 2 week 8 Swimming Trial challenges.
Fortnite Chapter 2 Week 8 Swimming Trials
The swimming time trials will take place at two distinct locations. One of these is at Lazy Lake, and the other is described as ‘east of Hydro 16’.
The latter can be a bit difficult to find, since the wording is very vague, but you don’t need to worry, as we’ll show you the exact location of both swimming trials.
Once you reach the location, you will find a glowing blue stopwatch. To start the challenge, you have to interact with it.
This location is very simple to find. Head west of Lazy Lake and you will find the stopwatch in the middle of the pond.
Between Slurpy Swamp and Misty Meadows, there is an unmarked building called ‘Hydro 16’. From here, travel north-west to get to the lake which has the stopwatch.
How to Start Swimming Trials
Once you’ve arrived at one of the locations mentioned above, interact with the glowing stopwatch there and the swimming trial will start.
Once the trial starts, a bunch of rings will spawn in a slalom and you’ll have to swim (or boat) through each one of them before the timer runs out.
For the trial at Hydro 16, you have to fall down a waterfall, so it is a little bit trickier, but overall these challenges are not that difficult.
Since a lot of people are doing these challenges, you might be troubled by some players while attempting them. So, it’s a good idea to wait for a couple of days or so before you attempt this challenge instead of doing it immediately, as it will result in less competition and less trouble.
After you complete the Swimming Trials, you’ll get more Week 8 challenges to complete, so you can acquire the Week 8 loading screen which has the hidden letter ‘E’
