If you’re one of the people who played the original Red Dead Redemption and its standalone expansion Undead Nightmare, then if you’re a PC player we’ve got good news. A modder named jedijosh920 has created a Red Dead Redemption 2 Undead Nightmare mod that lets you return to fighting the undead.
This time, the undead have come to Saint-Denis, leaving it up to Arthur Morgan to put them back in their graves. While no actual zombie textures are used (the mod instead uses the Night People that you can find hidden in the bayou), it still provides a new challenge if you’ve already beaten the main story on PC, or are just bored.
jedijosh920 hasn’t actually released the Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare 2 mod yet, so there’s most likely still a large amount of work to go through. However, hopefully it will turn out well once it’s finally released, and will let players relive some of the most fun they’ve had in Red Dead Redemption.
Of course, this also isn’t a guarantee that Rockstar doesn’t have any plans to put out a zombie DLC of their own. While there haven’t been any discussions for DLC plans so far despite the game being over a year old, hopefully we’ll get something zombie-focused at some point.
Considering how Red Dead Online is now a thing, and with how popular Undead Nightmare was, Rockstar would have to be quite ignorant to not want to make another Undead Nightmare game, or at least something involving zombies in just as much of an interesting way.
There’s already a much larger world to explore than in the original Red Dead, so there’s no telling what all Rockstar could do with another zombie DLC. While there’s no indication for when jedijosh920 will release the Red Dead Redemption 2 Undead Nightmare mod, hopefully it will be soon. You can see his gameplay by following this link.
