A new patch is on its way to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, update 1.09. Although Infinity Ward hasn’t released the official patch notes yet, developers have taken to Twitter, announcing some long-awaited fixes.
Although Modern Warfare Update 1.09 doesn’t offer any new content, it does provide some stability to the new Call of Duty game published by Activision.
Most significantly, Infinity Ward is changing the way the kill feed works in order to clearly show chains. Expect a bunch of bug fixes, weapon revamps and tank reworks to be included. However, nothing is yet officially announced.
Here’s a quick list of fixes for Update 1.09 for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare as reported by CharlieIntel:
- Kill feed changes that will remove some of the notifications like “…avenged you” to allow for collats and other kill chains to show up clean in the feed
- Many bug fixes and updates to challenges and officer rank progression challenges – there’s a lot of challenges that are not tracking properly still.
- Potential updates to the tanks in Ground War. Infinity Ward dev confirmed that they’re working on nerfing them, but it was not mentioned as to when to expect it.
- Other Weapon tuning updates – possible more changes to the 725, amongst other updates.
This might not be a big update but that doesn’t mean Infinity Ward isn’t high on its heels. A wave of 13 new Modern Warfare operators is going to be coming soon, according to a new leak. The content is still subject to change.
As a result, we have no release date, but it’s nice knowing that the studio is showing that amount of dedication onto multiplayer mode.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is enjoying greater success than Black Ops 4 by Treyarch and rival Battlefield V by EA DICE published last year by Electronic Arts.
Released on Microsoft Windows, Xbox One and Sony’s PlayStation 4, it has been a hit with not only fans but critics alike, cementing its position as the ground breaking first person shooter game of 2019.
Unlike past Call of Duty games, Modern Warfare has been nominated for two awards at The Game Awards 2019. The categories are for “Best Action” and “Best Multiplayer Game”. Given the title’s massive popularity over the past month, we expect it to win the second category. Maybe an award win will bring us another wave of new content. Is Activision Blizzard listening?
