Fortnite’s New Update Will Provide The Best PC Experience

Fortnite is constantly evolving, and this is also reflected in the technology it uses. To demonstrate that it is on par with the evolution of PC technology, yesterday Epic Games announced an important change that will bring repercussions to the experience of some users of this platform.

The developer confirmed through its website that the title will soon have support for graphics cards with Microsoft DirectX 12. This important feature will come to PC with the v.11.20 update.

This change is something to take into account if you are a passionate user of Fortnite, because it will allow those with high-end graphics cards and with DirectX 12 support to have a better experience that will be reflected in greater speed and stability of frames.

But that’s not all, the development team said that in the future they will add more features to Fortnite that take advantage of DirectX 12, although they did not share more details about it. But first the developer wants to get feedback on this news and thus find, correct errors and prepare to bring new content.

It is important to mention that if you are a PC player and you have a graphics card that does not have compatibility with Microsoft DirectX 11, it will not represent any problem, since you can continue playing without any impediment.

As technology evolves, so does Fortnite! The PC version of Fortnite currently requires a graphics card capable of running Microsoft DirectX 11. In v11.20, however, you’ll have the added option to play the PC version using Microsoft DirectX 12!

By using DX12, PC players with high-end GPUs may experience a higher and steadier frame rate. This is because DX12 delivers better CPU performance and allows for the distribution of rendering jobs across multiple cores.

In the future, we plan on adding features to Fortnite that are made possible by DX12. Allowing players to opt into DX12 before these features are added will give us valuable information in our development efforts and help us shake out any bugs.

If you’re interested in helping us test DX12, please jump in and give the new option a spin. Thank you for your continued support!

In other news, while it has been an exciting era in the Battle Royale, some players are already thinking about what follows. This is why we believe that several will be interested to know that a dataminer thinks he knows when Season 2 of Chapter 2 of Fortnite Battle Royale will begin.

According to their finding, Season 2 of Fortnite Battle Royal Chapter 2 will begin on December 12 or 13, depending on the time zone you are in.

Since the next Fortnite Season is expected to start in mid-December, it is very likely that it has a Christmas or winter theme. We say this since this happened last year. It will be interesting to see if the 14 Days of Fortnite, an event that had special challenges and awards, will also return.

It is important to note that, so far, Epic Games has not confirmed the start date of Season 2 of Fortnite Chapter 2. So, we recommend that you take this information with a grain of salt. We will be on the lookout and inform you when we have official details about the next season of Fortnite.
