Epic Games has released a brand new turn-based strategy gacha RPG called Battle Breakers. It functions a lot like most titles of this genre; you collect and select a variety of heroes to battle monsters and foes. We’ve prepared this beginner’s Battle Breakers Tips guide with a few useful tips and strategies to help you get ahead early in your playthrough.
Battle Breakers Tips and Strategies
In Battle Breakers, you need to collect and assemble a team of heroes who will help you capture territories across the map. You’ll start off with just one starting hero, then after you finish a bunch of levels and capture territories, you will start earning hammers, which can be used to unlock new heroes.
Battle Breakers Combat
A big part of the gameplay is turn-based combat. Unless you seek out a fight, battles will start automatically in the game. You need to destroy gems that contain foes or house treasure. Every foe can do some sort of elemental attack so pick a hero who has an elemental advantage over them.
You should battle with heroes whose colors match the tiles on the battlefield if you want to take advantage of some boosts in the midst of battle. Every tap to a tile changes the colors of the so a character of the same color will gain a damage boost, along with some health and mana regeneration.
Choosing your starting hero
The first decision you make after the tutorial is a crucial one. You need to select from one of the three unique heroes you’ve played as to be your starter. These are Tessa, Laric and Mei.
Each of them displays proficiency with a specific element and weapon, so each of them is unique in their own way. Familiarize yourself with each of their own strengths and then select the one you want.
Unlocking New Battle Breakers Heroes
You can unlock heroes by completing certain stages or leveling up. Some can even be part of your daily rewards. The most expensive but simplest way of obtaining heroes is to spend diamonds at the shop to purchase them.
Use a hammer to break a crystal whenever possible and you’ll unlock a new hero. The more heroes you have at your disposal, the better balanced your team will be. Each hero’s star rating helps you find out how strong or weak he is. We recommend you use the ones with a higher number of stars.
Focus On Leveling Up Your Best Heroes
XP points aren’t exactly limitless so try to go for as long as you can without spending them. This allows you to get more heroes to choose from and you can slowly figure out which ones are better. These tend to be the ones with more stars so focus on using them more.
New Player Challenge
If you want a little jump-start early on then you should try this permanent challenge. You have 8 challenge stages that require you to perform certain tasks in exchange for some really cool rewards. As a result, you get a little edge while familiarizing yourself with the basics of gameplay.
This challenge is open only for two weeks before it vanishes so hop to it.
Positioning Your Heroes
You need to strategize if you want to excel during battles in Battle Breakers. Your focus should be on putting the muscle up front to deal massive damage, while some ranged heroes are close behind to help. For this reason, place your best tank-class heroes in the front row to deal some melee damage, wand keep heroes with ranged weapons in the second row.
Your commander can help your team out greatly by providing a huge buff to it. This is why it’s important that you pick him very wisely. You can alter the positioning any time you wish by checking the team setup.
Buildings Help You Level Up
Everytime you unlock and create a new building, you have an opportunity to gain some new perks. You get free rewards very frequently that help you level up heroes. For this reason, we recommend you build often and visit those buildings as much as you can for rewards in Battle Breakers.
Bosses take longer defeat and have a great amount of HP. They also get support from their minions during their battles with you so you should focus on taking down the lackeys first. Focus your attacks on taking down these lesser heroes until all that’s left is your team and the boss. This helps make the fight far less hectic.
If needed, make use of the special items you find during these battles to help your team survive longer.
Reassigning Skill Points
You get to assign Skill Points to two skills in Battle Breakers. You can choose to boost your defense, attack, health, etc. However, if you find yourself regretting your picks, you can easily reassign those points by hitting the button that displays your current player level and then selecting “Respec”. You can now rearrange skill points to your preference.
Just keep these tips in mind and you’ll have a head start in Battle Breakers. Stay tuned for more content!
