While Age of Empires 2 has been getting a lot of traction over the past few years, fans of the series can now look to the future, as an Age of Empires 4 reveal has been confirmed to be happening tomorrow at Microsoft’s X019 event. The news was confirmed on Aaron Greenberg’s Twitter page.
While Age of Empires 4 was first announced to be happening back in 2017, nothing has come of the game since then. With that in mind, it’s likely that the showing that’s happening tomorrow will be an actual release date announcement, instead of a confirmation that the game exists.
The last new Age of Empires game that came out was Age of Empires 3, all the way back in 2005. There have also been a large number of spinoffs, such as Age of Mythology, which gives players control of three (or four with the release of a China DLC) civilizations with pantheons of gods that can use mythical units and make use of godly powers.
The Age of Empires 4 reveal happening tomorrow will finally be giving us a good look at the first main Age of Empires game to come out in fourteen years, and it’s likely that a large number of fans can’t wait to see how the game has changed since then.
Considering that the game is being developed by Relic Entertainment, the same studio behind other base-building strategy games like the Warhammer 40,000 “Dawn of War” series and Company of Heroes, hopefully the gameplay will be good even if, for the most part, guns aren’t involved.
While we don’t know everything that will be going into Age of Empires 4 when it finally comes out, the fact that the Age of Empires 4 reveal is tomorrow will hopefully answer the vast majority of the fanbases’s questions. Be sure to tune in to the show tomorrow to learn about the game and its release date.
