Ride to the west of Blackwater and south of Strawberry and just on some rocks there you will see Evelyn Miller pondering on life and wandering there. You need to approach him and talk to start this mission. His exact location during The American Inferno Burnt Out stranger mission might be Upper Montana River rocks.
After talking to him a cut scene will appear and after the scene, you will have to mount your horse and follow Miller through the forest.
Miller will stop near the trapped animal and you will have to free the animal, it will be easy as all the process will be through on-screen instructions.
After that mount your horse again and Miller will take you to Hunter’s camp. Here Miller will try to stop the Hunters and will beat one of them.
What you need to do is trigger the Dead Eye and take down the hunters instantly and clear out the whole camp, after eliminating all the hunters a cut scene will appear. After that, the first part of the mission will be completed.
After that first encounter, you will have to visit Evelyn many times. Let 4-5 in-game days pass by and the visit Evelyn again. When you visit him this time he will not come out of his cabin in Tanner’s Reach.
Leave some food for him, you can leave anything you want it will not affect any game outcome.
You need to visit and leave food twice for Evelyn after 3-4 days in order to get mission to progress further.
After another 3-4 days, visit Evelyn once again at Tanner’s Reach at his cottage. You will see a cutscene and you will walk near the door of the cabin.
After the cutscene, go to the left of the cottage and burn the curtains. Just leave the cabin and watch it going to flames. This will mark your RDR2 stranger mission complete.
