In The Outer Worlds, there are some special mods that allow players to modify their weapons and armors. There are two major types of mods: Weapon Mods and Armor Mods. Now in weapons mods, we have two subcategories of Ranged weapon Mods and Melee weapon Mods. In this guide, we will explain each and every armor mod along with its location in the game.

The Outer Worlds Armor Mods

In The Outer World, players get these armor mods that help modify existing armor just like Fallout. These modifications give weapons and armor some special abilities and characteristics. Here are all the armor mods available in the game.

Backpack

  • Mod type: Utility.
  • Mod effect: Carrying capacity +20kg.

Location: This can be found at Spacer’s Choice Insta-Merch Vending Machine at Edgewater Landing Pad, the T&L’s exotic assets vending machine at Edgewater Landing Pad, the Bullets ‘N Things vending machine at Edgewater Landing Pad, and in a container inside the Edgewater Cannery.

Grounded

  • Mod type: Armoring.
  • Mod effect: Shock armor rating: 10

Location: This can be found at Spacer’s Choice Insta-Merch Vending Machine at Edgewater Cannery.

Thug Kit

  • Mod type: Skill kit
  • Mod effect: Melee weapon skill +5%, Defense skill +10%.

Location: This can be found at Spacer’s Choice Insta-Merch Vending Machine at Edgewater Landing Pad.

Tech Kit

  • Mod type: Skill kit.
  • Mod effect: Tech skill +5%.

Location: This can be found at Spacer’s Choice Insta-Merch Vending Machine at Edgewater Cannery.

Hunter Kit

  • Mod type: Skill kit.
  • Mod effect: Ranged weapon skill +5%.

Location: It can be found inside a drawer in the Edgewater Cannery breakroom. You can also purchase it from the Emerald Vale General Store in Edgewater City or the Spacer’s Choice vending machine at the Edgewater Landing Pad.

Toughened

  • Mod type: Armoring.
  • Mod effect: Physical armor rating: 3.

Location: This can be found at Ludwig Miller’s residence in a locked container at Edgewater Landing Pad.

Reactive Kinematic

  • Mod type: Gadget.
  • Mod effect: Shield Projector.

Location: This can be found at T&L’s exotic assets vending machine at the restricted Edgewater Landing Pad.

Electro-Charged Surface

  • Mod type: Gadget.
  • Mod effect: Shock enemies that strike you in melee.

Location: This will be obtained as a reward for finishing The Frightened Engineer quest in Botanical Labs.

Silver Tongue Kit

  • Mod type: Skill kit.
  • Mod effect: Dialog skills +5, Leadership skills +10.

Leaper Injections

  • Mod type: Utility.
  • Mod effect: Dodge distance +30.

Nightingale Step

  • Mod type: Utility.
  • Mod effect: Volume of footsteps -25%, Radius of Footstep sound -25%.

Laminated

  • Mod type: Armoring.
  • Mod effect: N-Ray armor rating +5.

Insulated

  • Mod type: Armoring
  • Mod effect: Plasma armor rating +5.

Chrono-Field Aggregator

  • Mod effect: Restores some TTD meter when you land a critical hit.

Skeletar-Muscular-Adreno-Simulator

  • Mod effect: Increase the movement speed when TTD is activated.

Geographic scanner

  • Mod effect: Interactable Highlight range +5m.

Anodized

  • Mod type: Armoring
