Sad news for all Divinity fans out there. Larian Studios has just announced that they have to push back the release date for Divinity: Fallen Heroes. Even worse, they can’t announce a final launch yet.
The news comes from the official Larian Studios forums, with sincere apologies to all the excited fans. Unfortunately, the team won’t be able to release the game at its original release date which was set for November 2019. According to the post, the team needs more time to launch Divinity: Fallen Heroes at its true potential.
However, this step back won’t drag Baldur’s Gate 3 down. The developers are confident that this project is on its track and will be able to share more news about it soon. With team helping out with Baldur’s Gate 3 and Logic Artists working on an Expedition project, it is only natural for Larian’s own franchise to fall short.
The post continues by apologies to all fans and hopes for Divinity: Fallen Heroes to come into fruition soon:
We’re sorry for the players excited for Fallen Heroes, who will have to wait an unspecified period of time, but we strongly believe that bringing Fallen Heroes to fans should be done in a timeline that allows it to be developed soundly.
We value the work that everyone has put in to Fallen Heroes, and though we lament its status as of now, we all agree that there’s a great game in there that will sometime reach the players who await it.
Now that Divinity: Fallen Heroes has more time for perfection, we dare to say that we expect great things. Larian Studios has proved time and time again that they can create great RPGs that become classics. For the time being, Larian Studios will be working on Baldur’s Gate 3 and continue the support of Divinity: Original Sin 2 on Nintendo Switch.
Baldur’s Gate 3 has no exact release date yet too, other than its launch platforms which will be PC and Google Stadia. A trailer is the only thing we’ve seen so far, so stay tuned for more news about Baldur’s Gate and Larian Studios as they come.
