Several months after being announced at the Nintendo E3 2019 Direct, we’re finally getting some gameplay footage of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on the Nintendo Switch. The footage, which comes from the YouTube channel UrbaxPHServ, gives us 40 minutes of Witcher 3 Switch gameplay that comes from the first 40 minutes of the game.
As the third and most popular entry in the Witcher series, which chronicles the further adventures of the monster-hunting mutant Geralt of Rivia from Andrezj Sapkowski’s fantasy series, Wild Hunt has been long-overdue for a Nintendo Switch port, and the fact that we’re getting gameplay means that it’s one step closer to being a reality.
The game first released back in 2015 and got critical acclaim, and is still racking up sales to this day, meaning that the Switch version will likely be just as successful even if it’s not as good-looking as the other versions of the game.
The game finishes up Geralt’s story, as he faces off against the spectral Wild Hunt in order to save his adopted daughter Ciri from being used for their own sinister ends. Assisting him in this are a variety of other characters from the previous two games, depending on the various decisions Geralt has made during those games.
Along with the Witcher 3 Switch gameplay, the video also shows off the game’s option menu, its file size, and the game’s intro. While the 31.1 gigabyte size might turn you off, there’s a huge amount of content in the game that makes that size all worth it.
In addition to the base game, gamers that get the Switch version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be getting all of its DLC, which includes Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, along with the large amount of cosmetic DLC they released originally.
You can look at the Witcher 3 Switch gameplay yourself by following this link to the video. Otherwise, you can play the game on the Switch when it comes to that platform on October 15.
