Call of Duty Modern Warfare Story Will Mix Different Emotions

While the potential of Call of Duty is not in its history, Infinity Ward wants things to be a little different for Call of Duty Modern Warfare, because the proposal of the studio is to show the more crude side of war conflicts and this should be supported by a story in line with the events of the game.

During an interview with Escapist Magazine, Taylor Kurosaki, narrative director of Call of Duty Modern Warfare, talked about the history of the title and how it suits what they want to present to the players.

In that sense, the creative said that during the development process they worked with specialists in military conflicts with the aim of capturing a realistic story.

We have made a story that is relevant to the situations found in the war on terror and in conflict zones today. We aren’t being flippant towards these subjects. We’ve spent years with consultants from the military, to cultural consultants, to reporters on the ground to make sure we are portraying things accurately. This isn’t about sophomoric shock value; it’s about telling a meaningful story where characters are thrown into conflict and need to resolve it.

On the other hand, Kurosaki pointed out that, unlike what a certain sector might expect, the history of Call of Duty Modern Warfare will not be depressive but cathartic.

I reject using the term “fun” as a catch-all for the experience games should deliver. Do we use the term “fun” to describe what makes a novel or a film successful? How about engaging, thrilling, suspenseful, hopeful, thoughtful? In the same way that other forms of entertainment deliver the full spectrum of human emotions, the interactive medium should as well. The story of Modern Warfare is not depressing; it’s about the bonds between people, who share a common goal and set out to achieve it. There are moments of loss, moments of humor, and moments of celebration. It’s cathartic, and as strange as it sounds to say this, catharsis is fun.

Within all sections of each Call of Duty installment, the online multiplayer shines brighter, because after the campaign, players can spend many hours in the various modes offered by each iteration.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare will not be the exception, and today it was revealed what the new Special Ops reinvented mode is.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare will go on sale in practically 1 month, to test the online environment, Infinity Ward released a public Beta that users could play for 2 weeks. After that period, Activision said that they got a nice response from fans.

Through a press release, Activision announced that the last public Beta of Call of Duty Modern Warfare was the largest in franchise history. This was because it was not only the most downloaded and that most players tested it, but it was the one that players invested more time in and that achieved the maximum number of simultaneous players between PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

I remind you that Call of Duty Modern Warfare will debut on October 25 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
