If there’s one thing you can say for the future, it’s that it’s got amazing vistas, and despite the dirty side of Night City, CD Projekt RED has undertaken an effort to show the place off in a new series of Night City photographs that they’ve begun posting to Twitter.
The series, posted on Twitter with the hashtags #CaptureCyberpunk and #PhotosFromNightCity, will likely be going on for a certain amount of time, but since the only photo was posted just today, we have no idea of how long it will be for just yet.
Either way, the photograph, showing off the city’s downtown area from the other side of a river, puts up a veneer of glamor up over the city, which in the game’s reveal trailer at E3 2018 was remarked on as having a higher gap between rich and poor than any other place in America, along with a much higher crime rate.
Then again, that’s the entire point of cyberpunk; that beneath the shiny new future is the same old problems, made worse by the advance in technology. Various other cyberpunk games, such as Deus Ex: Human Revolution and its sequel, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, also had a similar issue.
Either way, we’ll likely get even more stunning vistas of the city with even more Night City photographs, depending on how many CD Projekt RED will be releasing over the near future. Cyberpunk 2077 doesn’t release until April 16 of 2020, so if CD Projekt RED intends to put out a new photo regularly, they’ll have to keep doing it for a long time.
If you want to see the first of what will hopefully be many Night City photographs, you can follow the official Cyberpunk 2077 Twitter page and see it for yourself. In the meantime, look forward to Cyberpunk 2077 coming out on the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC on April 16 of 2020.
