We’ve all been waiting for Red Dead Redemption 2 PC edition to release and Rockstar Games didn’t disappoint us. Almost a year after the console release, the game releases on PC much sooner than expected. Gear up because, in a month, you’ll be playing the game on your PC. That is if you don’t use Steam as your main platform. If you do, you’ll have to wait until December to get your hands on it.
Rockstar has released a detailed post about Red Dead Redemption 2 PC on the official Rockstar website. According to the post, the game will release on November 5th on PC through the Rockstar Games Launcher and will include visual enhancements, new story content and, as expected, pre-order bonuses such as more publisher games like Bully and L.A Noire on the launcher.
What’s interesting in this story though is that the game will also get released on Epic Games Store, Greenman Gaming, the Humble Store and more. As you might already have figured out, Steam is not on that list. Unlike Epic Store, if you want to get and play the game on Steam, you’ll have to wait until December. Here’s what the post states:
Red Dead Redemption 2 will also be available to pre-order at the Epic Games store, Greenman Gaming, the Humble Store, GameStop and additional digital retailers starting October 23rd with a pre-order bonus of 25 Gold Bars for Red Dead Online. Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC will also be available to purchase on Steam this December.
So we can call Red Dead Redemption 2 PC an Epic Games exclusive for one month if we exclude the Rockstar Launcher. Fans may get angry on Rockstar for this decision but One month I guess, is not much. Last but not least, Google Stadia will also get its version of Red Dead Redemption 2 when it launches.
The fact alone that Red Dead Redemption 2 will release on Steam, after a year of games turning away from it is a plus. However, we might face issues of cracked versions of the game before its release on the platform. That’s clearly one thing that we won’t wish to happen.
