Ghost Recon Breakpoint Crash at Launch, Gameplay Bugs, Low FPS, Sound Issues and More

In this troubleshooting guide, we list fixes for Ghost Recon Breakpoint errors, crashes, and other common issues being faced by the game.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Series has seen its ups and downs. Ghost Recon Wildlands was a descent experience and now Ubisoft is looking to overhaul that experience with Ghost Recon Breakpoint. I am not going to talk about the pros and cons of the new game as you can read our review for that however, from the technical point of view, you may come across some errors, crashes or bugs that could require fixes and workarounds.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Crashes and Other Related Bugs and Fixes

I am not saying that Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a technical mess, it’s just like with all the new games, players may come across some launch issues that may not even be game’s fault. So if you are looking for a fix related to Ghost Recon Breakpoint, you have come to the right place as I am going to list the most common issues related to Breakpoint and their possible fixes.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Crash While Launching Game on PC

Ubisoft has stated that this common crash to desktop while to launch Ghost Recon Breakpoint has been fixed. So if you have any pending updates related to the game, make sure you download them and the issue should be resolved.

If the crash issue still persists, I would recommend that you delete the open Beta which you may have installed on your PC with the full version of the game. All you have to do is locate “DataPC_TGT_WorldMap.forge” file from your installation folder and delete it. You will be good to go.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Ultimate Edition Bonus Content Bug

If you have got your game through Uplay+ then there is no bug you should be worried about. The bonus content will be available after the game’s official release. Same goes for the regular buyers of the game as the content will be accessible after the game’s release.

Can’t Change Graphics Settings

If you are unable to change graphics settings in Ghost Recon Breakpoint due to settings being grayed out, you must be using multiple monitors. In that case, it’s recommended that you unplug one of the monitors and then change the settings. I know that it’s not a proper fix but that’s all you can do for now. Hopefully this graphics issue will be fixed in the future.

Ghost Recon Break Point Controller Mapping Issue

Some users have reported that they are experiencing issues on PC while trying to Map their controllers. The issue wasn’t prevalent in the beta but now, it seems to be a major bug. Whats’s the fix though? It’s simple. You will have to delete or rename your configuration file/folder in My Games by the name of Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

Make sure that you make a back up before you rename or delete this folder. After deleting the folder, when you will launch the game for the first time, it will reset your configuration setting and hopefully, the issue will be fixed.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Unexpected Error AUROA 43B40820

Unfortunately, the error code isn’t listed on Ubisoft’s official support page for Ghost Recon Breakpoint. The code is related to connectivity so there are a few things you can try.

  • If you have access to your router, try restarting that. If you have an open NAT, that’s a plus.
  • Make sure your antivirus or security software/firewall isn’t blocking the game.
  • Also, the error could be related to certain missions. So if you are having trouble joining any other player at a certain point, progress a bit further and try again.

Ghost Recon Beakpoint Random Crashes

If your game is up to date and you are still facing random crashes during missions, chances are that you have overclocked your GPU. If that’s the case, try to use the default settings of your GPU and it should work fine.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Sound Bug

Breakpoint had a weird bug in beta where players wont hear every sound (like the vehicle sounds) in game. The issue should now have been fixed with the recent update however, if the issue still persists, you should try deleting the “sounddata” folder in your game’s folder.

After that, you should verify your game files thorugh Uplay or Epic Games store and it should download that folder again. The issue should be fixed and you will be able to play the game normally.

Also, if you are using surround sound 7.1 headphones, you may encounter the sound bug too. In that case, as a temporary workaround, you can switch your sound output to speakers which should fix the problem.

Ghost Recon Break Point No CD Key Issue

Some users have reported that they didn’t receive their CD key yet from Epic Games Store. Well, the only solution you have for this is that you contact Epic Games Store support immediately.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Low FPS and Performance Issues

Players have made multiple complaints on Ubisoft forums about Low FPS and performance issues for Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Needless to say that your PC should be good enough in the first place to get descent FPS.

If you are still getting poor FPS, the mandatory thing to do is update your GPU drivers. That didn’t work? Next thing you should try is exit all the background applications that may hinder the performance of Ghost Recon Breakpoint.

You can also check your system’s performance while the game is running through task manager. See if your GPU is being used properly and is now below 25% atleast usage. If those numbers aren’t normal, you may want to fix the specific issue related to hardware. For example, if your hard drive (where you installed the game) doesn’t have sufficient space, it may lead to poor performance or even crashes.

Ghost Recon Break Point Skill Tree Bug

If you are unable to spend points in your skill tree, you should restart your game. If the issue doesn’t fix itself with a quick restart, try to verify your game files which may resolve the problem for you. Needless to say that your game should be up to date.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Perk Slot Bug

There have been multiple reports from the players about one of the perk slots not working properly in Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Ubisoft has acknowledged this issue so expect it to be fixed soon with future updates.
