Call of Duty Mobile only released today, and already various bugs and problems are coming to the fore. The most notable of the Call of Duty Mobile issues so far is that some players have found themselves stuck on a loading screen while attempting to download an update, which fails.
Of course, if you can’t install the update, or even get past the loading screen, you’re not going to be very happy, especially if you’ve been looking forward to being able to take Call of Duty on the go. Activision acknowledged the problem earlier this morning, and has since posted an update.
Unfortunately, that update is just that they’re working on discovering the cause of the problem while the game is still experiencing high volumes of traffic. While they’re working on the Call of Duty Mobile issues as fast as possible, who knows how long that will be.
Call of Duty Mobile isn’t a fully-fledged Call of Duty game, mainly being a free-to-play iOS game that simply allows players to engage in multiplayer matches including things like Battle Royale, but one would think Activision would have caught something like this during testing, especially since the game’s been in beta since July.
Adding things like the Call of Duty Mobile issues to the fact that the game already has two separate in-game currencies might not herald very good things for the game, either. The upcoming Modern Warfare game is already in hot water for locking some of its weapons in lootboxes, along with making a portion of its Special Ops mode a timed exclusive for the Playstation 4.
Hopefully Activision can fix the various bugs plaguing the mobile game in a timely manner, but in the mean time if Call of Duty Mobile isn’t your speed, you can look forward to getting the new Modern Warfare title on October 25 for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.
