Marvel’s Avengers Confirms Thor Heroics, Can Use Bifrost For Cosmic Strikes

Being a literal god of thunder, it only comes natural that Thor has some of the most powerful heroics in Marvel’s Avengers.

In another series of Twitter reveals earlier today, two heroics were confirmed for Thor. One of them is called Warrior’s Fury. Following a short channeling time to focus his Asgardian powers, Thor slams down the ground with “limitless lighting strikes” that continue to travel outwards and find nearby enemies.

The other of the two heroics was neither named nor shown. However, a description did confirm that Thor can open the Bifrost Bridge to travel to another realm from where he can rain down a powerful torrent of cosmic energy strikes. Based on the wording, it’s probably one of the more powerful heroics in Marvel’s Avengers. It’s also one of the favorites of Crystal Dynamics.

For those in the dark, heroics are special attacks in Marvel’s Avengers. Every playable character has three in total: assault, support, and ultimate; all of which have a cooldown timer and are designed for unique situations. Captain America, for example, can mark enemies to receive increased damage from allies, as well as throw his shield to damage and stun up to five enemies.

Thor recently received a new hairdo in Marvel’s Avengers. He now has his hair tied up, similar to how it was at the beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It’s a major improvement to the character model, and a much-needed one since fans weren’t too happy at how the Earth’s mightiest were designed. Captain America had the worst case in this regard. It was not just his face. The choice of his costume design was also questionable. It’s likely that Captain America will be the next in line for improvement.

According to developer Crystal Dynamics, Marvel’s Avengers will be new and original like the rebooted Tomb Raider trilogy. Whether this will be the comic book adaptation that gamers have been waiting for their entire lives is still hard to say, but there’s surely some promise.

Marvel’s Avengers will have five playable characters at launch, a roster that will increase over time with post-release additions. The same goes for their respective alternate costumes, most of which have been taken from comic books.

Marvel’s Avengers is scheduled to release for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on May 15, 2020.
