FIFA 20 PC version is facing errors and issues like DirectX 12 Render Error, crash at launch, black screen and more. Here I have compiled a list of FIFA 20 errors along with their possible fixes and workarounds.
FIFA 20 Black Screen, Low FPS, And Fixes
FIFA 20 is the latest title in the long-running annual soccer franchise. This time around the game has included Volta mode that makes things more interesting. However, FIFA 20 PC isn’t a perfect port and is facing errors and issues like the crash at startup, DirectX 12 Render Error, and more.
The following are the errors and issues that players are experiencing along with their fixes and workarounds.
Game Not Launching, Crash At Startup Fix
Players are reporting that when they try to play FIFA 20, it doesn’t launch and there is no error or black screen. Here are a few fixes that might help you with a crash at launch issue with the game.
You might be running an older build of Windows 10. If you are, then update your Windows 10 to build 1903 and the game will start.
Another one of the reasons for the game to crash is third-party monitoring software like GeForce Experience and MSI Afterburner. Disable any third-party monitoring software that you are using and the game should launch normally.
Another reason could be that FIFA 20 doesn’t have administrative rights. Right-click on the game’s exe > properties > compatibility > check “run this program as an administrator”. Apply this and the game should launch.
If the issue persists then the culprit might be your anti-virus software or Windows Defender detecting FIFA 20’s exe file as a trojan. Fix this by either making an exception for FIFA 20 exe in your anti-virus or just disable your anti-virus.
DirectX Crash, DirectX 12 Render Error Fix
Players are reporting that when they play FIFA 20 it randomly crahses with the following DirectX error.
“DirectX 12 Render error, Your graphics card is physically removed or your driver has stopped working.”
The reason for such a crash is that the game is running on DirectX 12 and you need to change it to Direct X 11.
To do that, go C/Users/Username/Documents/FIFA 20 . Open fifasetup.ini and search for “DIRECTX_SELECT = 1” and change it to “DIRECTX_SELECT = 0”. This will make the game to use DirectX 11 and the crashes will be gone.
No Opponents Found Fix
This is another issue that PS4 players are experiencing while playing FIFA 20. To fix this, block your secondary account from your primary account and then block the primary account from the secondary account.
Then, restart the console and play the FIFA 20 and the game will find opponents for you.
Missing Pre-Orders and Bonus Content
While there isn’t a direct fix for this yet, EA support has made it evident that they are looking into it. Therefore the fix for this is emailing their support for answers.
Seeing the wrong FUT club
This happens when your club is accidentally replaced with another player’s club through a rare and pretty funky ass glitch. The fix to this is simply banning that player’s ID after re-logging into yours.
Market listings not diappearing
People are rightfully concerned about the thing they bought still not being available, implying their money got wasted. However, the issue here is simply time. The listing will vanish after a short while.
Black Screen At Launch Fix
A classic issue for PC users that also got affected by the error and FIFA 20 PC version is no exception to the rule.
If you are experiencing a black screen while the sound plays in the background then the fix is simple. Start the game and when the black screen appears, press “Alt+Enter” and the game will go into Windowed mode. Now, go to video settings and set the proper resolution and you’ll be able to play the game in fullscreen.
If you are experiencing just a black screen with no sound, then the issue might be your GPU driver. Update your GPU driver and the issue should be resolved.
Low FPS, Stuttering Fix
Performance is a major issue in PC ports and FIFA 20, despite being well optimized, isn’t an exception. Players are experiencing low FPS and stuttering while playing FIFS 20. Here are a few things that might help you with stuttering and performance.
First, make sure your GPU driver is up-to-date as the latest ones bring game-specific optimizations. Also, make sure there is no background process running that is using too much of your HDD or CPU.
As for the stuttering fix, open Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3d Settings > Program Settings. Select the game and change the following.
Set “Power Management Mode” to “Prefer Maximum Performance”
Set“Texture Filtering- Quality” to “High Performance”.
That is all for our FIFA 20 fixes for errors and issues like DirectX 12 Render Error, crash at launch, black screen, stuttering and more.
