Call of Duty Modern Warfare Netcode 1v1 Delays Are Worse Than Black Ops 4

Call of Duty Modern Warfare beta was a success but it wasn’t without its issues. Of course, it is understandable considering it is the “beta.” One of the issues the game had is lag which, according to YouTuber Battle(non)sense, is a major netcode problem for Call of Duty Modern Warfare.

The YouTuber did an in-depth analysis of 20+ games and checked for lag and latency in various game modes. He looked for Damage, Gunfire, and Movement latency. The results explain why many reported being shot dead even when behind cover. Here’s the chart that paints the picture of what’s going on and it seems the netcode is worse than Call of Duty Black Ops 4.

There is a 30-40ms delay in 1v1 encounters compared to Black Ops 4. This makes 1v1 head-on encounters really tough to handle. The problem will be more noticeable when playing Gunfight mode, at least it’ll frustrate the players more.

Netcode issues aren’t anything new to Call of Duty, in fact, they aren’t even exclusive to Call of Duty. What Modern Warfare netcode is experiencing is exactly what happened to Battlefield 3 all those years ago.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare is still a month out so we can hope Infinity Ward will fix netcode issues. The beta feedback and data gathered by the developers should help deal with a number of issues.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare is releasing on October 25 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Pre-orders for the game are live on PlayStation Store, Xbox Live Marketplace, and Battle.net.

In other Modern Warfare news, fans are angry over the fact that Spec Ops Survival mode is exclusive to PlayStation 4 for a whole year. By the time this mode comes to Xbox One and PC, most of the community would have moved on to the next Call of Duty game. According to Infinity Ward, the mode is just 1% of the game while 99% of Modern Warfare will release simultaneously across all platform.
