Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is apparently about to go gold, according to a recent tweet from the game’s producer. The producer in question, Blair Brown, said that Respawn was close to the end of development on the game and that he couldn’t wait for people to play the game.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was first announced at an EA Play conference at E3 2018 in a rather awkward interview with a Respawn dev in the audience. The game eventually got an official trailer at this year’s Celebration back in April, and finally got an actual gameplay video at this year’s E3.
Fallen Order will be the newest of the games that come out with EA’s exclusive development deal with Disney, which allows them to develop any Star Wars game for the foreseeable future. Despite a large amount of controversy, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order at least seems to be fairly promising.
The game focuses on a Jedi Padawan named Cal Kestis, who is attempting to lay low after the rise of the Galactic Empire. However, when he’s forced to use his powers to save a friend, he finds himself chased across the galaxy by the Empire’s forces and the sinister Inquisitor known as the Second Sister.
The story of the game will bring us in contact with a number of other Star Wars characters, such as rebel leader Saw Guerrera and his Partisans on the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk, and take us to a variety of different planets as well.
It’s been a while since we’ve gotten a Star Wars game that allows us to wield a lightsaber, the last one being Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II back in 2010. Hopefully, however Fallen Order will have a much better reception than that game did.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will be releasing on November 15 of this year for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC.
