Borderlands 3 Players Are Seeking Technical Help On Steam

Borderlands 3 has officially launched for PC through the Epic Games Store but as irony would have it, many players are turning to Steam for troubleshooting.

The new installment apparently has quite a number of technical and gameplay-related issues. The PC version obviously takes the cake, which is usually always the case. However, there have been several complaints about the console versions as well. The Xbox One X in particularly seems to be skipping frames when running Borderlands on 4K resolution.

Coming to the PC version, players are reportedly suffering from bad ultrawide support, low or stuttering frame-rates, echoing audio, missing gameplay features, and such. There have even been queries about how to receive pre-order bonuses, which basically points out the newcomers to the franchise. All of these issues, though, have been posted on the old Borderlands 2 forums on Steam, which they have now incidentally renamed as the unofficial Borderlands 3 forums.

Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford once blew up on Twitter that the Epic Games Store is best for Borderlands 3 and those asking about Steam can continue to “bitch and moan”. Then there were other cases of his infamous rants where he mowed down Steam players as well. It’s why there’s a bit of humor in seeing players grouping up on Steam after purchasing Borderlands 3 on the Epic Games Store, which incidentally has no forums of its own.

The PC issues though, don’t really seem to be that widespread. In our review of Borderlands 3, we called it a solid sequel that does ample justice to its predecessors and is definitely worth a buy. Just where you buy it on PC is your call. Borderlands 3 is expected to land on other digital marketplaces, including Steam, after six months. That would put it somewhere in April 2020. If you can’t wait that long, you can either go with the console versions or introduce yourself to the Epic Games Store.
