You might find this hard to believe but KFC is apparently publishing a dating simulator that features none other than Colonel Sanders front and center. The acronym stands for the same Kentucky Fried Chicken, the global fast-food chicken-specializing restaurant chain, in case you wanted further clarification; at least that’s what the official Steam listing claims.
It’s called “I Love You, Colonel Sanders!” and promises to be “a finger lickin’ good” dating simulator. The plot sets you up as a promising culinary student as you try to date your classmate, Colonel Sanders — a fairly young Colonel Sanders.
The dating simulator will introduce nine other characters, as well as several herbs and spices to be used in the kitchen. There will be cooking battles, which will be one of the ways for you to impress Colonel Sanders and get his attention. The product description further mentions multiple hours of play-through, secret endings and secret recipes, “cute” miniature food, and the chance to earn a cooking degree from a fictional culinary school.
Do you have what it takes to survive culinary school? Will Colonel Sanders choose you to be his business partner? Or maybe even so much more? Find out in the most finger lickin’ good dating simulator ever created—a game that KFC actually made.
There’s no official word by KFC at the time of writing to confirm that this dating simulator is not a spoof. However, considering that KFC actually published a romance novel a couple of years back, it wouldn’t be overly surprising to see the company interesting in bringing out a dating simulator.
Steam doesn’t mention a release date as of yet, but you can add the uncanny dating simulator to your wishlist if you want. It’s being developed by indie studio Psyop, which released Camp W last year to rather impressive reviews. It wasn’t a dating simulator though, just a friending simulator where you have to decide which campers you want to get to know better.
