Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Will Have ‘Enhanced’ and ‘Experimental’ Aim Assist Options

Infinity Ward’s upcoming Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is one of the most anticipated games of 2019 so there’s a lot of players that want to know about the gameplay before its release date. In a recent Reddit comment, Infinity Ward revealed that there will be two aim assist options in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s gameplay.

On August 24, 2019, Infinity Ward did a recap of the day two beta over at Modern Warfare’s Subreddit. In the post, Infinity Ward answered a number of questions regarding Modern Warfare along with detailing some of the issues and upcoming fixes related to Modern Warfare’s 2v2 Gunfight Open Alpha.

Reddit user Aramor asked a question in which they inquired about the aim assist options that Infinity Ward has put in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s gameplay. Even though what Infinity Ward answered was open to interpretation, the reply was interesting nonetheless. According to Infinity Ward’s answer, there will be two kinds of aim assist options in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. One will be an enhanced aim assist option and the other will be experimental.

Question: “So the enhanced and experimental settings are for multiplayer? If so that is troubling as why would anyone not use the best one?”

Infinity Ward: “Specifically each is different. For instance, one doesn’t slow down your aim when pointing close to a target as much as the traditional aim assist does. I personally don’t like this, but higher skilled players who have better stick control do like it. They feel they can get on target faster with less help from the system. Hope that example helps.”

Just how these enhanced and experimental aim assist options will function in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s gameplay, we don’t know that yet. But we will eventually find out once the game releases.

We also learned recently that Infinity Ward is considering an ADS Slider option for Modern Warfare but there won’t a FOV slider option on consoles.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare is classified as a “soft-reboot” of the franchise, being developed by Infinity Ward for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 and has a release date set for October 25, 2019.
