Deep Down Could Return At TGS As Shinsekai: Into The Depths

It has been 6 years since the announcement of Deep Down. They revealed it as a title that combines fantasy and science fiction elements. Traveling back in time as warriors wielding various weapons, we were to sink in the fight against other beasts and creatures, while looking for treasures.

To be exact, production for the game was announced in 2013 as the first online RPG game Capcom made specifically for PlayStation 4. However, something had to go wrong somewhere, because there were no more news and details about the results and progress of the work.

There was such a buzz around this game and they promised that it will be an action RPG combining the experience of Dark Souls and Dragon’s Dogma, but the statement apparently slowly ended its life in the depths of the code.

Deep Down has also not appeared in any recent events and, although Capcom never said that it was canceled, it looks like they were at least dedicated to renew the license and extend it.

In the meantime, however, Capcom may surprise players – after the renewal of the trademark in 2017, it was still quiet about production. Currently, the Japanese developer has filed a new trademark in Europe rebranding it as Shinsekai: Into the Depths.

According to speculation, the new brand may be a fresh life form for Deep Down. The “Into the Depths” gives hope that the company has not forgotten about such a promising production and would like it to return. People are convinced that the Japanese developer has long been working on the new IP, which was created on the basis of Deep Down.

It is possible that we will know more information at the September Tokyo Game Show, because so far there is no official information from Capcom both in the subject of the new title, Shinsekai: Into the Depths, and Deep Down.

The Tokyo Game Show will be held from September 12 to 15, so we won’t have to wait long.
