Red Dead Redemption 2 Mod Lets You Become A Bird

Wanted to be a wild, wild bird flying over the wild, wild west in Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2? A new mod lets you do exactly that.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is an incredibly detailed game. If you kill somebody, and you will many somebodies, you can watch their corpses disintegrate. However, on account of others wanting to kill you as well, you have to be constantly on the lookout, and thus you can’t enjoy the scenery. The Bird mod from jedijosh920 lets you become a bird and take to the skies, therefore avoiding the others who want to kill you.

The birds can only die, if they’re shot or if a player hits the ground with them too quickly, but otherwise, this is a stress-free experience. The birds you can control, come in various shapes and sizes. You can become a parrot and squawk your way through the landscape or you can become a majestic eagle and soar over America and there are many more birds.

The birds have been given so much care while they were being created, that the detail on them is astounding. Wanted to cross the border into Mexico? Usually, only a glitch would let you cross it in Red Dead Redemption 2. But this bird mod lets you get a glimpse of it. Some have believed that the inclusion of the normally inaccessible location is a hint that it will be part of an upcoming DLC, however, we have no clue what the story will contain.

What may be most surprising about this mod is that this isn’t a PC mod. Red Dead Redemption 2 is only available on the PS4 and Xbox One with no release date for a PC version insight. Modding on the consoles isn’t unheard of, but it’s always easier to mod a game on PC. Sony and Microsoft have welcomed mods of high-profile titles on storefronts in the past though, and Read Dead may be one of the highest-profile titles out there, so this sort of console mod isn’t too far-fetched.

But hopefully, jedijosh920’s bird mod inspires others to make some fun mods in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available on PS4 and Xbox One.
