Infinity Ward’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is only a couple of weeks away and the hype for the game is at an all-time high. A lot of fans are wondering about some of the gameplay options that Infinity Ward has put in Modern Warfare, especially those options that impact gunplay like FOV and ADS. In a recent FAQ on Reddit, Infinity Ward’s community managers offered clarification regarding FOV and ADS sliders in Modern Warfare.
Earlier today, Infinity Ward held a Feedback and Bug Reporting FAQ Reddit session over at Modern Warfare’s Subreddit. During the session, Infinity Ward answered a number of questions regarding Modern Warfare as well as some of the issues related to Modern Warfare’s 2v2 Gunfight Open Alpha.
One of the comments posted was regarding FOV (Field of View) and ADS (Aiming Down Sights) in Modern Warfare. The fan xxihostile urged Infinity War to include these options in the game and the comment got a lot of upvotes as well as replies from other fans.
The comment reads,
Please, I’m begging you guys, can you add aim down sight sensitivity and FOV slider on console. It seems silly not to have in this day and age and as a disabled gamer it makes a huge difference, ADS sensitivity in particular, to my shooting accuracy and general playing ability.
Community Manager, ashtonisVULCAN_IW, replied with an answer saying:
We can look into an ADS slider but no promises, so don’t hold me to that. I know FOV slider on console is a huge point of conversation, but we won’t be having one this game.
ADS and FOV options are very important when it comes to first-person shooting games in which a player is required to react quickly during the gameplay, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is one of them.
Earlier this year, we learned that the console version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare won’t have a FOV slider. Now there are a number of reasons why Infinity Ward isn’t including a FOV slider option in Modern Warfare and we talked about some of them here.
As far as ADS is concerned, Infinity Ward has said it is something they will try to work on but there are no guarantees we’ll actually get one. Call of Duty Modern Warfare is classified as a “soft-reboot” of the franchise, being developed by Infinity Ward for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 and has a release date set for October 25, 2019.
