Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition release date has been announced and it’s November 14. The release date was confirmed during an Inside Xbox livestream before Gamescom.
This announcement has resulted in mixed reactions. The reason is because currently there are two Age of Empires projects in the pipeline. One is the Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition and the other is Age of Empires 4.
Anyone who has known about the Age of Empires timeline knows how it has been. Age of Empires, Ages of Empires 2, its expansions and then, Age of Empires 2 took over the world of Real Time Strategy, then the franchise went through a bad patch. The games have had several remasters.
Age of Empires 2 itself has had two remasters before this. When Age of Empires 4 was announced at Gamescom 2017, fans finally breathed a sigh of relief. But it seems that they were mistaken for we have had no update since. Fans pinned hopes to this Gamescom but it seems like this time too, it will remain the same.
We hope we are disproven, lets see how it goes.
