New Battlefront 2 Single-Player Content Expected At Gamescom 2019

Gamescom 2019 is almost upon us and game developers have started to tease content for their games in order to build hype. Now to add to that fire, the franchise design Director at EA DICE for Star Wars Battlefront has teased more single-player based content for Star Wars Battlefront 2 at Gamescom 2019.

Star Wars Battlefront II released almost two years ago with its share of controversy surrounding its use of microtransactions. Many argued that the game borderlines on being pay-to-win, giving significant gameplay advantages to players who paid while regular players were at a disadvantage.

While Star Wars Battlefront 2 was mostly a multiplayer online game, it also had a single-player mode which featured a customizable character class system. Battlefront II’s single-player mode also featured content based on several Star Wars movies such as The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.

During 2017’s EA Play, game developers confirmed that Star Wars Battlefront 2 would have free DLC included in events called seasons instead of season passes. The first Season expansion, The Last Jedi Season was released on December 5, 2017. Earlier this year, we got the Star Wars Battlefront 2 Captial Supremacy update which added two additional reinforcements.

The latest was the Season 3 centered on The Clone Wars. The last update for Season 3 was made available on June 21, 2019, which added two new classes to the game: Droideka for the Separatists, and TX-130 for the Republic. And now it seems Star Wars Battlefront II may be getting a new Season update that will feature single-player content.

This comes from a teaser Tweet made by Franchise Design Director for Star Wars Battlefront, Dennis Brännvall. In the Tweet, Brännvall shares that he is headed to Germany. Even though he doesn’t exactly say it but it is implied he is going there to attend Gamescom 2019.

Brännvall also uses a very suggestive hashtag that implies single-player content for Star Wars Battlefront 2.

Since neither DICE nor Electronic Arts have officially said anything about what Star Wars Battlefront 2 content we will be seeing at Gamescom 2019, it is recommended that you take this information with the usual grain of salt.
