Gears Of War 5 Development Ends, The Coalition Announces Game Has Gone Gold

Gears of War 5 development has ended today, and The Coalition is on track to release the Gears 4 sequel on September 10 on the Xbox One and PC.

The Coalition, the developers of the new trilogy of Gears of War games, has made the announcement that Gears of War 5 development is over, and that the game has gone gold. This means that Gears of War 5 will be making its stated release date of September 10, barring any future patches.

While the game may be completely developed, there are likely still a number of bugs and glitches in it that The Coalition will have to be working on prior to the game’s official release, which likely means the game, like every game these days, will have a day-one patch to fix lingering issues.

Gears of War 5 will be continuing the story of Kait from Gears of War 4, who in that game was heavily implied to have some sort of connection with the Swarm, possibly even being related to Marah, otherwise known as the Locust Queen, who died at the end of Gears of War 3.

The game will place Kait in the main role as she, JD, and Del go on a journey to further discover her origins, while at the same time continuing to deal with the Swarm, the trilogy’s new threat that has been born from evolved Locust after the end of Gears of War 3.

We don’t know very much about what’s going to be happening in the game itself, but with Gears of War 5 development finally over, we at least don’t have much longer to wait. The game will not only be coming with a new story, but new multiplayer modes as well complete with character customization.

Along with Gears of War 5 development being over, The Coalition has also released the game’s full achievement list, though if you care about spoilers you might want to avoid picking that up for now. Either way, Gears of War 5 will be releasing on Xbox One and PC on September 10.
