Spyro Nintendo Switch Controller Made In Preparation For Spyro Reignited Switch Port

It’s already been around 9 months since the Spyro Reignited Trilogy launched on consoles, but now it’s getting ready to make another jump to the Nintendo Switch. Controller company PowerA, however, is willing to give players a bit of a boost by offering a Spyro Nintendo Switch controller, coming August 30.

PowerA has been responsible for making a large number of different special Nintendo Switch controllers with a variety of designs and decorations, and the Spyro Reignited controller is only the most recent of the bunch that’s been revealed.

Various controllers brought out by PowerA, which sells wireless, “enhanced” pads, include Pokemon, Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Mario, Splatoon, and more. While the Spyro Nintendo Switch controller is a bit simpler, it still meets the quality of the other controllers.

The controller is white for the most part, but its buttons all fit everyone’s favorite purple dragon’s color scheme of purple and orange. The left side of the controller is also home to a piece of key art, depicting Spyro and a number of different heroes and villains.

The controller, which is officially licensed by Nintendo, has the ability to map actions to the triggers on the back, and also has motion controls and Bluetooth connectivity. However, there’s no Amiibo option or rumble, so if you’re looking for more feedback you may be slightly disappointed.

The game’s batteries also leave something to be desired. Instead of the rechargable batteries of the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, the Spyro controller is battery-powered, with AA batteries. While this gives you 30 hours of gameplay, it still seems like a negative.

The new Spyro Nintendo Switch controller is currently available for pre-order on Amazon, but will become available August 30. The Spyro Reignited Trilogy itself will be releasing on the Nintendo Switch on September 3.
