Call of Duty 2020 Will Be a Black Ops Reboot, Set in Cold War Era

New Call of Duty 2020 will be a reboot of Black Ops series, according to a new rumor. The rumor originates from Youtube Channel LongSensation, who is a well-known leaker. Of course, like any other rumor, the information should be taken with a grain of salt.

According to the leaker, two names are currently being considered for Call of Duty 2020. The names include Call of Duty: Black Ops V or simply Call of Duty: Black Ops. Furthermore, the next Call of Duty is set within the forty-year period during the Cold War era. In addition to this, the game will include both the Korean and Vietnam wars.

The leaker also claimed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 5 or simply Call of Duty: Black Ops will be much more “gritty and gruesome” than this year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

If the rumor turns out to be true then Call of Duty: Black Ops reboot or Call of Duty: Black Ops 5 will release in late 2020 and presumably for PlayStation 5, Xbox Scarlett, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

The leak tells that Treyarch will be reverting back to campaign mode despite the success of Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode. For those who don’t know, Treyarch replaced Black Ops 4’s campaign mode with the battle royale mode.

We will probably have to wait until next year to know more about Call of Duty 2020 or Black Ops 5.

According to the previous reports, Sledgehammer Games and Raven were working on the game but then were replaced by Treyarch as the leading studio. The decision was made by Activision due to problems in the game’s development. Keeping that in mind, Treyarch has a lot of work to do in order to get the title out next year.

Until then, you can try out Call of Duty: Modern Warfare when it releases on October 25 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
