In a post made via his Twitter, Ed Boon, Creative Director at NetherRealm Studios, revealed that current situation of Mortal Kombat 11 DLC Kombat Pack isn’t the studio’s choice. In addition to this, Ed Boon also revealed that fans will be getting an extensive gameplay look at Nightwolf in Mortal Kombat 11 tomorrow.
MK11 players waiting to hear news about DLC characters. We know this timing isn't ideal and FWIW this isn't our choice. But thanks for hanging in there with us. Things are still looking good for the Nightwolf game-play trailer tomorrow. Stay tuned… pic.twitter.com/NVPrAiGqXd

As much as there is the anticipation from fans, NetherRealm Studios has also been very much silent about Mortal Kombat 11’s DLC Kombat Pack. Very little is known about the Kombat Pack at this point, apart from some leaks and rumors.
Apparently, this DLC is going to be a big one and will include several characters but according to Boon’s Tweet, it isn’t exactly NetherRealm’s fault that they had to be so quiet about it.
Since the game studio is mostly charged with designing the game and the marketing, publishing, and post-launch content falls on the shoulders of the publishing company.
The publishing company in Mortal Kombat 11’s case is Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. We can assume that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment played a major role in the secrecy of Kombat Pack’s release date.
Of course, fans have been looking forward to Mortal Kombat 11’s post-launch DLC ever since the game’s launch. This DLC has been named the Kombat Pack which includes a number of characters, skins, and sets of gear for Mortal Kombat 11.
The Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack includes the following:
- 6 New Upcoming DLC Playable Characters
- 7 New Upcoming Exclusive Character Skins
- 7 New Upcoming Sets of Gear
Four of these DLC Playable Characters for Mortal Kombat 11 have already been revealed. We know that they are going to be Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, Sindel, Spawn. But now the question is, who are the other two?
So far, the website doesn’t list the Kombat Pack’s release date but according to a post on ResetEra, Nightwolf will be available to Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack owners from August 13. So it is likely the release date for Mortal Kombat 11’s DLC will also fall somewhere around that.
Mortal Kombat 11 servers also went offline for about 48 hours. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment officially announced that the servers are now back online and matchmaking should work now.
Mortal Kombat 11 developed by NetherRealm Studios is out now for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One. The game will be also available for streaming via Google Stadia later this year when the platform launches.
