Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes 2019 Guide – Upgrade to Masterwork Armor, Eaz Quest, Armor 2.0

Destiny 2 fans, rejoice! The summer event is here, titled “Solstice of Heroes” and boy is it jam-packed with content and things to do. When it isn’t about collecting high tier armor or obtaining valuable buffs, it’s about ravishing new cosmetics and events to partake in. Below, we break down the main features and the content added to Destiny 2 via the Solstice of Heroes update.

Destiny 2 Solstice of Heroes 2019

The Festival of the Heroes starts on Tuesday, Jul. 30 and runs till Aug. 27 granting you just less than a month to explore the new content. The weekly resets are set at 1 PM EDT.

Before we delve into the details, behold the quick glimpse at what you can expect:

Apart from adding several new quests, two additional Moments of Triumphs have been added to the game. Furthermore, the Gambit Mode has been made available to all players regardless of their Forsaken purchase.

This popular Multiplayer Mode will be free for all players till the end of the Solstice of Heroes event.

The name of the game is Elemental Orbs and these are of three types i.e. Solar, Arc, and Void. Using weapons focused around these three elements will grant you kills that generate Elemental Orbs.

These orbs will be useful down the road as you upgrade your armor for power and efficiency.

To help with this collection of Elemental Orbs, the element-based subclasses have been granted temporary buffs to the weapons. The following effects wouldn’t be applicable in Competitive or Gambit Prime modes.

  • The Arc Elemental Buff allows you to collect Arc Orbs for increased agility and melee (including Sword) damage.
  • The Solar Elemental Buff allows you to collect Solar Orbs to release a lethal burst of energy wave towards the enemy.
  • The Void Elemental Buff allows you to collect Void Orbs to grant you invisibility, Truesight, and increased ability regeneration, while you’re crouching.

Your journey starts with a visit to Eva Levante near the Statue of Heroes in the Tower. Here, you’re given the Drained Solstice Armor set which you’ll upgrade later on.

From here onwards, you’ll participate in the European Aerial Zone (EAZ) and fight off against Hive, Cabal, or Fallen enemies. You’ll need to team up with two friends to defeat as many mini-bosses as possible in the prescribed time.

This will ensure you can collect more treasure chests in the areas. But you will only get access to those boons after you’ve defeated the final main-boss.

Treasure Chests contain the Solstice Package that can be unlocked via Solstice Key Fragments. These special keys are obtained as you complete more tasks during the Solstice of Heroes event.

Unlocking the chests, you’ll be awarded Materials, Enhancement Cores, and even Legendary Gear.

Once you’ve acquired the Solstice Armor with 2.0 perks via the opening mission of the event, you can upgrade it to its Legendary Version. You’ll need to complete certain objectives or steps.

These will see your armor change from Drained to Renewed to Majestic (Legendary) and ultimately, the Masterwork Solstice Armor.

Earning all Legendary Armor sets (Solstice, Titan and Warlock) will award you with the Legendary Sparrow weapon, the EV-37 Voidstreak.
