Death Stranding to Release on Google Stadia?

Hideo Kojima recently tweeted a picture of himself with the head of Google Stadia Jade Raymond, suggesting that Death Stranding might not be a PlayStation 4 exclusive after all.

The Tweet mentioned that Jade Raymond, head of Google Stadia Games and Entertainment met with Hideo Kojima at the development studios of Kojima Productions. It could be a simple visit but it’s safe to assume that Raymond and Kojima met to discuss the possibility of Death Stranding on Google Stadia.

Furthermore, Raymond is working hard to make sure Google’s Stadia is a hit and that the service launches with some amazing exclusive games. Keeping that in mind, we bet that Raymond wants to see Death Stranding on Stadia to give a boost to the streaming platform.

Also, don’t forget the fact that Kojima recently said that streaming is the future of gaming. Maybe Kojima was referring to Google Stadia.

In addition to this, Jade Raymond later Tweeted that she got the chance to preview Death Stranding. As expected, Raymond mentioned that Death Stranding is another masterpiece by Kojima Productions. With that said, the rumor remains that we will end up seeing Death Stranding on other platforms other than the PS4.

It’s rumored that Death Stranding is a limited time PlayStation 4 exclusive. As we reported before, the absence of an exclusive logo on the cover of the upcoming Kojima game also hints that the game will release on some other platform.

Of course, it’s possible that Sony didn’t mention “PS4 exclusivity” on the box art of Death Stranding because they want to re-release the game as the launch title of PS5. To find out if the rumors are true or not, we will have to wait.

As for now, Death Stranding is scheduled to release exclusively on November 8, 2019, for Sony PlayStation 4.

Players can pre-order the game digitally from PlayStation Store. Different Death Stranding Editions include the standard edition, Special edition, Digital Deluxe Edition, and Collector’s edition. Do check out our pre-order guide to find out which edition of the game you should purchase.

On the other hand, Google Stadia is also scheduled to launch in November 2019 in 14 countries, including the US, Canada, and the UK. Players will have to pay £8.99 a month for the 4K subscription. If Death Stranding ever releases via Google Stadia, players will be able to play it on mobile devices, Smart TVs, and via Google Chrome browser.
