Cyberpunk 2077 Stealth Might Not Feature Bows Or Throwing Weapons

A reddit user shared their screenshot of a conversation with Cyberpunk 2077 on facebook. Their question was regarding the possible presence of a Cyberpunk 2077 stealth weapon in the form of a bow and arrow kit. We’ve been told multiple times by CD Projekt Red about the stealth options we will have in game.

In response to that, here’s what CD Projekt Red had to say:

They did not outright deny the presence of bows and arrows. However, they did sort of deflect the question by saying you will have gun silencers and melee weapons. The emphasis being on melee and not throwables.

It’s understandable that Cyberpunk 2077 doesn’t want to spoil anything for us. Maybe there will be a bow weapon as part of an important plot device. Perhaps the same can go for something like a signature tomahawk weapon or a throwing knife. Either way, nothing’s been confirmed.

If we’re still looking for clues, the original tabletop RPG that Cyberpunk 2077 was based on is a good place to look. The tabletop game barely featured any throwable weapons. It did have a variety of crossbows, however.

A lot of people don’t see the downside of excluding bows in the game. Why? Because from a logical perspective they don’t make any sense. Why would somebody use a bow and arrow when even the cheapest weapon in the game is probably better? Even stealth isn’t a valid excuse since you can silence your weapons.

In response to that, the other side of the specttrum argued about roleplayability. Cyberpunk 2077 is an RPG where you can shape your own character and story. This means every player using a bow and arrow would have some kind of story behind why they’re doing so.

Finally, as a conclusive point, maybe Cyberpunk 2077 stealth won’t include a bow. However, that’s what they might save for the DLC content, right?
