Knights of the Force Mod For Star Wars: Jedi Knight Jedi Academy Is Relevant Again, Here’s Why

As we draw closer and closer to the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order release date as well as the upcoming The Rise of Skywalker movie, Star Wars hype is at an all-time high right now. But that is not all though, Knights of the Force 2.1, a mod for Star Wars: Jedi Knight Jedi Academy is also making a big comeback and here’s why it’s relevant again.

Star Wars: Jedi Knight Jedi Academy was a third and first-person RPG set in the Star Wars universe. Jedi Academy is also the latest entry in the Star Wars: Jedi Knight game series as of right now. Its combat gameplay focused on firearms from that universe, as well as lightsabers and Force powers.

Players took the role of a Force-user, who has access to a variety of Force powers in addition to their lightsabers. With a heavy focus on lightsaber combat, the game was well-received and still loved by many fans to this day.

With a fan-base, this large, the game also received a lot of fan-made mods. One of these mods was Knights of the Force which was released back in 2008. Its latest 2.1 version is still available on ModDB and its currently seeing an uprise in downloads thanks to the upcoming release of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

Knights of the Force was intended as an expansion pack/total conversion for Star Wars: Jedi Academy at that time (almost 10 years ago). The mod allowed players the ability to fight against hundreds of characters from across the Star Wars Saga.

The first version of the mod, unfortunately, ended a few years ago but from its ashes, Knights of the Force 2.1 was born. As of right now, Knights of the Force 2.1 offers:

  • Over 190 maps from all Star Wars Eras
  • Over 240 characters that are both playable and NPCs
  • Over 20 new weapons
  • 80+ lightsaber hilts for both single, dual and double lightsabers
  • Easy to use NPCs spawning system

Knights of the Force puts a focus on a single-player even though a multiplayer mode is still available. So while we wait for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the best thing to do right now is installing the Knights of the Force 2.1 for Star Wars: Jedi Knight Jedi Academy and relive countless moments from the Star Wars Saga.
