Call of Duty Modern Warfare Info Blowout: Gunfight Mode Details, Weapons, Peak and Lean, and More

Just days ago Call of Duty Modern Warfare developers allowed two streamers to reveal Gunfight Mode. The 2v2 mode has Rainbow Six Siege vibes. The footage we saw revealed a ton of details that some of who may have missed.

Peek and lean mechanics are confirmed as well as the sniper glint we saw in Infinite Warfare. Shooting each other at the same time would result in a trade kill. Hardcore COD fans will be happy to know that despite Siege’s influence, quick-scoping is back. However, it is much slower compared to the previous Call of Duty games.

Riot shield is confirmed to be a part of multiplayer gameplay but Gunfight mode has a default loadout for all players. You won’t be able to change your loadout.

Gunfight Mode Map, Loadouts, and Other Details

Call of Duty Modern Warfare Gunfight mode has a smaller map compared to the face-off maps from Modern Warfare 3. Players will only get one life and no health regeneration. Like I mentioned above, Modern Warfare multiplayer Gunfight mode doesn’t let you create loadouts and they are randomly generated every two rounds. Each round lasts somewhere between 30-40 seconds; sometimes even less. Set weapons can be picked up around the map.

Developers want to make sure there is no camping so in case nothing happens within the first 40 seconds, a flag will spawn in the middle of the map. Get the flag first to win the match.

Modern Warfare will feature a tournament mode with brackets. Rewards for winning the tournament mode are yet to be confirmed.

Certain maps might feature as day/night variation.

Despite its Siege influance, the game doesn’t feature any Specialists. All the characters are the same.  Most weapons can be mounted on vertical or horizontal surfaces to reduce recoil.

Night vision goggles are back from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. They can be turned on and off at any point during the match.

You can interact with pretty much all doors in the multiplayer mode. Some of the maps are designed with three lanes like Black Ops games but some are with four lanes. Most maps are 2-3x the size of Shipment from Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare and tend to be rectangular in shape.

Weapons used in Call of Duty 2019 are all based on real life in terms of brands etc. From the looks of it, at least the Gunfight mode doesn’t have killstreaks.

Developers have added the option to add your own March Madness-style tournament brackets for Gunfight mode. In Gunfight, mode grenades are locked in order to avoid players throwing grenades into enemy spawns.

Weapons have a ton of attachments and the time to kill in closer to Ghosts. It depends on which weapon you are using.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2019 is releasing on PS4, Xbox One, and PC on October 25.
