Infinity Ward Developer Laughs At Modern Warfare 2 Remaster Rumors, Another Hint?

Infinity Ward developer recently replied to the rumors of Modern Warfare 2 Remaster by laughing instead of saying yes or no. The lack of yes or no suggests us that the rumors of Modern Warfare 2 releasing this year might actually be true.

For those who don’t know, there’s a rumor going around the internet which suggests that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare official artwork is teasing Modern Warfare 2 Remastered. The artwork consists of Captain Price and one of the wrinkles on his shirt appear to reveal number “2”. It’s impossible to ignore it once you spot it.

Modern Warfare 2 Remaster

The rumor finally caught the attention of a developer at Infinity Ward. Infinity Ward Studio Narrative Director Taylor Kurosaki Tweeted the picture shown above and replied with “Hah! That’s funny.”

Interestingly, Kurosaki’s laugh does not outright deny the rumors of MW2 Remaster, which is why it has given Call of Duty community more hope that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 remaster is coming. It’s possible that Infinity Ward is working on a remaster and that wrinkle on the shirt of Captain Price was just a coincidence.

In case you don’t know already, Infinity Ward is the only Call of Duty studio that has released a remaster before. IW released Modern Warfare Remastered in 2016 bundled with Infinite Warfare. The studio can do something similar this year. That way, we can expect the campaign mode of the remaster to arrive a month before the release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2019.

According to the previous various rumors, Modern Warfare 2 Remastered may or may not arrive with multiplayer mode. However, we don’t see a reason why IW will remove multiplayer of Modern Warfare 2 because it’s the sole reason why the game is still being played on Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 in 2019.

Do take the provided information with a grain of salt until Activision and IW officially confirm anything. Even if the Modern Warfare 2 Remastered is not in the works, Activision or Infinity Ward should reveal that so that the impatient fans do not suffer further.

Until then, Call of Duty fans should be pleased to know that the upcoming Call of Duty 2019 takes inspiration from MW2 airport mission. Yes, the mission where you are forced to kill civilians at the airport (Terminal).

With that confirmed, I personally being a fan of MW2 cannot wait to play the game and get my hands on some amazing guns.

It’s rumored that the upcoming game will feature fan-favorite weapons like ACR, Famas and more from MW2. It’s also possible that we see MW2 multiplayer maps like Rust, Terminal, Wasteland and more in the upcoming game.

Don’t worry, Call of Duy 2019 will not feature a traditional season pass like previous games so you will be able to try out all of the DLC maps for free. In addition to this, Call of Duty 2019 will come with a cross-play feature which allows players for the first time to play with their friends on other platforms.

For now, we can do nothing but wait to hear about the official announcement of Modern Warfare 2 Remaster. Until then, you can pre-order Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to be the first to play it on October 25 with PlayStation 4, Xbox One or PC.
