Kickstarter Backers Won’t Get Shenmue 3 Season Pass After Spending Hundreds

Shenmue 3 Kickstarter backers won’t get the season pass and other content included with pre-orders/deluxe edition. According to Ys Net, backers will get the Kickstarter Edition, Slacker Backers will get Slacker edition. Kickstart backers won’t have access to The “Blazing Kick” Advanced Technique Scroll, Kenpogi Training outfit, and Peking Power Starter Pack* (this set can be downloaded only once per account).

No matter how much money you spent on backing the game, no extra rewards for you. It is to be noted that Ys Net never promised a season pass, pre-order bonuses, and deluxe edition content. While usually these type of content is added for Kickstarter backers, no one can blame Ys Net. It must also be mentioned that Kickstarter exclusive rewards were given as part of pre-orders and deluxe edition.

We apologize for the long delay in responding. Your feedback is appreciated and we will look into having your noted points in future updates.

Standard and deluxe versions released through retail sales are not affiliated with the crowdfunding campaign, so will not be included with backer pledges, however, they will be available for sale separately. Kickstarter Backers will receive the Kickstarter version, Slacker Backers will receive the Slacker Backer version. Both have unique content respective to their versions not available in the retail versions.

A season pass is not included.

Trial version release date info has yet to be confirmed and will be announced in the updates when details are available. You will be receiving your trial trial version, but we must ask for your patience for a little longer.

There will be more information following in the days ahead concerning updates.

The Shenmue III Team

Although adding this content for Kickstarter will help the company’s strained relationship with backers. Shenmue 3 is releasing on PC, PS4, and Xbox One this year on August 29.
