Gears 5 Multiplayer Tech Tests Start From July 19, PC Requirements Revealed

The Coalition has finally announced the start dates for Gears 5 multiplayer tech tests. The first Gears of War 5 tech test is scheduled to start on July 19 at 10 am PT, 1 p.m. ET and will run until July 22 at 10 am PT.

Preload of Gears 5 tech test will begin on July 17 at 10 am PT and players will be required to download only 15 GB. Considering the file size, it won’t be a problem for Gears of War fans to download the beta.

Afterward, the second Gears of War 5 beta will start from July 26 at 10 am PT, 1 p.m. ET and run until July 29 at 10 am PT.

Access to Gears 5 multiplayer technical test will be available only to Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription owners. Aside from that, players can sign up for Gears of War 5 tech test by pre-ordering the game through Microsoft Store or select retailers. If you meet the requirements above, Gears 5 tech test will automatically show up in your “Ready to Download” list on July 17.

The technical test will offer different multiplayer modes for players to try on two different and new maps. Two different versus modes including Arcade and Escalation mode will be available to carry out intense battles. In addition to this, another game mode that will be available in the Gears of War 5 tech test is King of the Hill. The studio has also released a video explaining Escalation mode which players can check out below.

Gears of War 5 beta will also include a Bootcamp training mode, which is designed to help new players understand the game better before jumping into online modes.

Another mode mentioned by The Coalition is called Tour of Duty which will let players complete medals unlock cosmetic items and “tester weapon skins”, which will be available for the players to use in the full game.

This Technical Test allows us to stress test our servers over two focused Test Periods to ensure the best possible experience when large volumes of players rush in at launch, The Coalition said.

The developer has now also provided recommended, minimum and ideal PC specs that players will need to play Gears 5 multiplayer tech test.

Gears 5 is set to release on September 10, 2019, for both Microsoft Xbox One and PC.
