The Witcher 3 Nintendo Switch release date is set for September 24, 2019, according to a leak. This leak comes from a listing found on a retail site based in the Czech Republic. Since there’s no credibility of the source, we advise everyone to treat the provided information as a rumor for now.
It’s possible that the September 24 release date is nothing but a placeholder. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition was announced for Switch during E3 2019 and CD Projekt RED has yet to confirm the release date. However, it’s expected that the game will arrive sometime in 2019.
If the rumor is to be believed, September 2019 will be quite busy for Nintendo Switch owners. That’s because there are several other Switch titles releasing in September including The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening Remake, Daemon X Machina, Dragon Quest XI, the Spyro trilogy and FIFA 20. In short, there will be a lot of competition for The Witcher 3 if it releases in September on Switch.
Until that happens, players can check out the announcement trailer of Witcher 3 coming to Switch below.
The Witcher 3 Complete Edition means that the game will arrive on Switch with every DLC ever released for the game. It means that the game will come with lengthy story DLCs like Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. For those who don’t, The Witcher 3 Nintendo Switch port is being developed by Saber Interactive.
Recently, CD Projekt Red UI Coordinator Alvin Liu unveiled that Witcher 3 adjustments on Switch include user interface changes. The Witcher 3 players on Switch will interact in a different way as compared to other versions of the game.
On the other hand, Switch version of the game will cut down on foliage and draw distance in order to make the game run smooth.
Right now there’s a bit less foliage and some of draw the distances are lower… but it still looks amazing. I was very impressed. Unless you pointed a lot of changes out to me I probably wouldn’t have noticed them, Alvin Liu said.
The good news is that no content will cut from the game on Switch. Moreover, Liu is very satisfied with the way the game is currently running on Switch. In short, Witcher 3 on Switch is playable and everyone will be able to enjoy the game story on the go.
In terms of resolution, the game will run at 720p dynamic resolution in dock mode and at 540p in handheld mode. Interested folks can check out The Witcher 3 Nintendo Switch vs PS4 graphics comparison in the video below.
