Netflix’s Witcher series starring Henry Cavill has been wrapped up for a few weeks now, and now Netflix has decided to tease us even further. Several Netflix Witcher posters, including not just a normal poster but character shots of Geralt, Ciri, and Yennefer, have been posted online for fans to see.
The series has been in the works since it was announced to have started production in 2017. Since then there’s been good cause for excitement along with a few causes for some controversy, but now that it’s wrapped and close to coming out, fans can start letting the hype build.
There hasn’t been a worldwide version of a Witcher series released ever. The series’s homeland, Poland, had previously gotten a Witcher show called “The Hexer”, which along with a standalone movie was critically blasted by both critics and fans.
However, the Netflix Witcher series is going to be working with a much-more all start cast, and hopefully a great deal more effort put into it. With eight books’ worth of story in the Witcher games and plenty of stories to tell, Netflix may have its own Game of Thrones on its hands soon (and hopefully a much better ending.)
The Netflix Witcher posters and character shots that were posted today show off not just Henry Cavill (better known as Superman or August Walker from Mission Impossible: Fallout) as Geralt, but also Anya Cholatra as his paramour Yennefer of Vengerberg, and Freya Allan as his adopted daughter, Ciri.
This July, at San Diego Comic Con, Netflix will be hosting a Witcher panel in Hall H, so they’ll likely have more information for us and even, hopefully, a trailer that we’ll be able to watch in order to see how the show will actually look.
There’s no announced release date for it, at least, yet, but if you want to look at the Netflix Witcher posters and character shots, you can find them further up this article.
