Other CD Projekt Cyberpunk Games In The Works Than 2077, Says CEO

Adam KiciƄski, CEO of CD Projekt RED, has announced that there are two other CD Projekt Cyberpunk games that are currently being worked on alongside Cyberpunk 2077. These include a multiplayer title set in the same universe, and another title that is so far unannounced. 2077 will be releasing in April of next year.

The Cyberpunk universe is based on the Cyberpunk 2020 tabletop game that was released back in the late 80s. The game takes place in the far future of America, where megacorporations dominate society in Night City, a California metropolis of five million where crime and inequality is rampant.

Cyberpunk 2077 was first announced way back in 2013, but dropped off the map afterwards as CD Projekt RED worked on the Witcher games. Now that those are done however, the other CD Projekt Cyberpunk games can be worked on alongside 2077.

However, we don’t exactly know how those will work. The multiplayer game might be similar to the Gwent spinoff game that The Witcher 3 got to capitalize on the rampant surprise popularity of the Gwent card game, but it could also be something entirely different.

And that’s not even getting into what the unannounced Cyberpunk project will get into. CD Projekt RED will likely announce both of the other projects when they’re ready, and since Cyberpunk 2077 doesn’t release until the middle of April that could still be a fairly long way away.

Considering that previous bits of gameplay have shown us that there will be a great deal of criminal gang conflict in the game, not to mention possible megacorporation conflict, the multiplayer component could revolve around gang wars and corporate warfare.

Of course, we’ll have to wait and see what CD Projekt RED announces in regards to the new CD Projekt Cyberpunk games. Cyberpunk 2077, in the meantime, will be coming out for the Xbox One, Playstation 4, and PC on April 16.
