Valve have officially launched their annual Steam summer sale 2019, and there’s a lot to be excited for. Dates for the sale were leaked earlier from a Chinese Steam community page, Steam CN, reportedly with confirmed dates. The sale will last for two weeks and is expected to end on July 9th.
So, what will we see?
To kick it off, the 2019 Steam Grand Prix mini-game has arrived, where players can join a racing team and earn points to help get their team to the top. The points are earned by purchasing games as well as participating in quests with certain games.
To elaborate, purchasing discounted games will help increase your team’s “Boost Meter” capacity. However, you don’t have to spend money to achieve this, as you can also take part in the event’s quests as well as earn certain achievements in your game.
These quests involve different kind of challenges in various games, from slaying a rare monster in Starbound to opening up a container at your quiet farm in Stardew Valley.
Of course, Valve will reward you for participating in these quests. By earning more Grand Pix tokens, you can spend them at the Pit Stop in exchange for certain rewards such as chat emojis and profile backgrounds.
But, there’s always a bigger prize to be won. If your team makes it to the top 3 on the daily chart, the prize includes winning a game of your choice from your wish list – completely free.
Aside from the Grand Prix event, Steam’s summer sale certainly won’t be short on discounted games for PC, that’s for sure. Many of these popular titles include Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Astroneer, Devil May Cry 5, The Elder Scrolls Online, Hospital, Scum, SoulCaliber 6, Tow Point and Undertale.
A truly huge event for PC gamers, but this sale will only last so long, so be sure to get your hands on any of your favorite titles for a crazy low price.
