CD Projekt RED won’t cut content from the base game for Cyberpunk 2077 DLC. It will arrive as a full game at launch with a satisfying story. This was confirmed by CD Projekt Red UI coordinator Alvin Liu in a recent interview. Liu told Prima Games that Cyberpunk 2077 will have a “very satisfying story arc” with or without any DLCs or expansions.
CD Projekt RED will release DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 but the approach is identical to The Witcher 3.
It’s a very satisfying story arc, right? You’re going to see characters and you’ll see them develop. You’re going to see them go through conflicts and resolve those conflicts. It’ll be a very rewarding ending. We’re not withholding content, we’re not withholding story for the future to try to, you know, monetize it or sell it in pieces or anything like that. You’re going to get the whole, full value game here.
According to Liu. Alvin Liu went on to say that he expects Cyberpunk 2077 expansions to arrive sometime after launch.
CD Projekt currently wants to make sure that the game’s main story is complete. The focus isn’t DLC for the time being. The Witcher 3 received two paid DLCs “Hearts of Stone” and “Blood and Wine” hefty expansions. Both of these expansions provided players with around 10 to 17 hours of content.
Keeping that in mind, Cyberpunk 2077 post-launch content and expansions can be expected to contain lengthy and new storylines. CD Projekt Red hasn’t announced any post-launch release content for Cyberpunk 2077. The studio has made it clear several times that they’re currently focused on the launch of the game.
Cyberpunk 2077 is currently scheduled to release on April 2020 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. We saw a new trailer of the game starring Keanu Reeves at E3 2019, which you can check out below.
