Let’s See What Analysts Have Predicted for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett Price

Project Scarlett and PS5 prices are going to be a crucial element. Success depends on the hardware power, games, and most importantly, how much it’ll cost. Since Microsoft nor Sony revealed the price for their next-generation consoles. Analysts have predicted PS5 and Xbox Scarlett prices and they are pretty interesting.

Predicted prices range from $399 to $799 for next-generation consoles. The hardware specs play an important role in predicting the price. Xbox Scarlett and PlayStation 5 are pushing for 8K graphics, super fast SSD, and AMD CPU/GPUs. PlayStation 5 will also use ray-tracing for its games. The feature isn’t confirmed for Project Scarlett but it is most likely happening.

Both consoles will release with bleeding edge features that may bleed your wallet. One of the analysts went as far as predicting an $800 price tag for PS5 and Xbox Scarlett.

But the next-generation of consoles might end up being cheaper than some expected. Microsoft recently stated that Xbox Scarlett’s price is reasonable.

We understand what reasonable price points are for a console and kind of what customers expect about that. At the same time to you, we are innovating we are pushing the boundaries of some of this. We’re not sharing any details on price, or, you know, more detailed specs at this point. But I will say that we’re very confident in what we’re building, something that will set a new bar for expectations of console gaming.

Meanwhile, Micheal Patcher recently predicted $399 for PlayStation 5 and Project Scarlett which is surprising considering the specs on offer. But then again Patcher is not the most reliable source in the world.

So what this mean? PS5 and Xbox Scarlett price are unlikely to go above $499. Going above this price tag would hurt sales and since competition will be stiff prices must be competitive. While the manufacturing cost of these specs will make it hard to hit $499 or below, we need to keep in mind that almost all consoles are sold at a loss.

Sony and Microsoft sell their consoles at a loss for at least a few years. The revenue comes from recurrent player earning and software sales until hardware manufacturing costs go down.

Every title sold on PS5 and Xbox Scarlett will have a licensing fee. It is important for both companies to sell as many games as possible. Both companies also sell many accessories with huge profit margins. Combine this with online services revenue and selling consoles at a loss becomes a viable option.

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Scarlett price won’t go above $499. Rest assured, no company in 2019 will sell its console for $799.
