Marvel’s Avengers video game will feature microtransactions at launch like most other AAA games. This information was revealed by Crystal Dynamics lead Shaun Escayg.
In a recent interview with IGN, Escayg revealed that the players will be able to purchase different custom outfits for each of the heroes in Marvel’s Avengers with microtransactions. In addition to this, Lead combat design Vincent Napoli told IGN that Marvel Avengers microtransactions will not affect gameplay at all.
There are other aesthetic ways to customize your player card and your player experience, but there is nothing that affects the gameplay, Napoli said.
Crystal Dynamics refrained from revealing any further details about Marvel Avengers game customisation options. We can expect to see customisation options beyond just custom skins in Avengers video game like dance emotes etc.
However, the good news is that Avengers game will not feature random loot boxes or pay-to-win mechanics as confirmed by Crystal Dynamics during Square Enix’s E3 2019 press conference.
In order to keep the Avengers game community together, Square Enix will release post-launch heroes and locations for free. Currently, we don’t know about the characters that will be coming to the game after launch. We can expect to know more about the game and its post characters at upcoming events like Sony’s PlayStation Experience, State of Play and Microsoft’s Inside Xbox show.
As for the characters confirmed, players will get to play as Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Captain America, and Thor when the game launches next year.
Nolan North will play Iron Man, Troy Baker will play Bruce Banner, Jeff Schine will play Captain America, Laura Bailey will play Black Widow and Travis Willingham will play the mighty Thor.
